So Samsung's MWC event has just finished lots of juicy information in regard to Wear OS and the Samsung and google collaboration and a bit more information on what we can expect from the upcoming galaxy watch. Four and active four make sure you stay tuned, this one's an important one. What's up guys welcome back to tech, its easy! I don't usually do videos on a Monday, but since the Samsung MWC event has just finished, I thought I'd catch you up on that on all the essential information in regard to the new galaxy watch, 4 and active 4. , before we jump into that, though, if you could quickly leave a cheeky like subscribe to the channel check out the discord server and take a look at our brand-new channel teeny's top five that would be awesome, links down below so getting straight into it. Unfortunately, we did not get a good look at the galaxy watch four or active four. It does appear that they are saving that for the Samsung unpacked event which drops later on in July.
I do like a surprise, but it would have been nice to catch a glimpse of the design, but what we did get was lots of juicy information on Wear OS, and they did in fact confirm that Samsung and Google are working together as opposed to Samsung, just adopting google Wear OS. This is a really, really good sign as it's going to bring the best parts from both operating systems together to make one super OS, and it could even compete with apple a little better than Tyson and where OS have done on their own in the past, I, for one I'm really excited about it. There were a couple of key things that I did note down. The main one was the emphasis on battery life. They said they've been working on the heart rate sensors to be able to track activity throughout the day and night with plenty left over the following day.
Now that is a direct quote from them at the MWC event today, and that is a really, really good sign, as that is suggesting more around the 48 hours of battery life, which is great in comparison to what we're getting now. They also talked about better performance, but didn't give any details as such on how that's going to happen other than talking further about optimization. What they did also show off, though, is that one UI will be running over the top of aware OS. Much like it does on your smartphone. They mentioned that the new settings tray is going to mimic, that of your smartphone and things like contacts apps, and a couple of other settings will automatically sync with your galaxy watch and phone.
Now in my last video, I talked a lot about compatibility and how the move to Wear OS might affect older ti zen devices and Wear OS devices. Whilst we didn't hear much on Wear OS devices, we did get a statement regarding ties and devices, so what Samsung have said is that ties and watches will get three years of support from their launch date. Now I'm assuming the galaxy watch hasn't really got much life left in it now, but for the galaxy watch, three you're going to get at least two to three years more of support on ti zen. That is good news because it means the galaxy watch.3 hasn't become completely useless, but it does seem to have a sell-by date. Other than that, though, there wasn't really a huge focus on wearable tech.
There was very much a big focus on security, which is all very well and good, but it doesn't really do much for the galaxy watch and active four other things I did mention. If you were interested there is a new tab. Seven founders edition coming out, which I thought looked pretty cool, and they also talked about electronic waste, which I thought in light of everything that's going on in the world at the moment was excellent. They talked about using software for older smartphones and using them as baby monitors pet monitors, whatever you want to do with it, but yeah other than that, though smartwatch wise, there wasn't much more information, but there was those few key things to take away from this. So that was a quick roundup of today's MWC event from Samsung still lots of information to come on the galaxy watch, 4 and active4, and, to be honest, I don't really mind that I do like a surprise.
I just hope it's going to be a good surprise. As always, if you did enjoy the video, please do leave a like subscribe to the channel and check out the discord server for now, though, I've been Alex, this has been. Take it easy. Thank you so much for watching, and hopefully I'll see you in the next one is.
