Galaxy S20 - Unboxing (Full UK Retail) By J TheAndroidFreak

Hello YouTube welcome back to my channel and in this video I'll be unboxing the brand new Samsung Galaxy S 20 the flagship phone from Shenzhen for the year 2020. Now the previous vibration was as 10, and they have certainly jumped from s 10 to the s 20 and the only logical reason I can think of is probably trying to sync the series name of the number with the year. So it's 2020 and Samsung Galaxy S 20 only used to come and probably make more sense to have the same year in the same model number. So people can easily remember the new Galaxy flagship anyway. So, let's open this box up quickly, I know quite a few unboxing aren't there on YouTube already, however, the only few you can box and have seen so far, even the biggest YouTubers in the UK have got the European version of the S 20 at 20 plus and the s20 ultra, oh god, I'm. So sick of hearing Ultra, ultra everywhere, because people have begged you stop.

Ultra is too big. Six point: nine inches smartphone size. Really you are making regular galaxies bigger than even your biggest phones, the Galaxy Note. What sense has gone into these people? What has gone wrong with this world? You're convincing people to buy a six point, nine inches guys. Just a few years ago we had a Nexus tablet from Google, which was seven inches, and now you're convincing people to buy the ultra I, don't know.

What's the market strategy, how is Samsung able to convince all these big YouTubers and everybody to talk about Ultra, ultra I'm, sorry, I completely and utterly disagree, Samsung, Galaxy, S 20 is the true flagship. There's reason why I always choose the regular model for the last couple of years, because the phones have become far too gigantic, even the s 20 plus for God's makes, six point, seven inches again: it's a Galaxy, Note territory, I understand. We live in an age where people like big phones, but even big, has limits to me personally. As long as the phone is around six point, one to six point two inches, it is manageable with one hand you easily enjoy the phone, especially at nighttime in bed or out and about if you're, in a public transport weighing in a pass from the underground, you will enjoy a phone with one hand or two hands all the time. I tired you making a phone call.

You can't be holding that big break next, your ear, it simply doesn't make any sense. I will not stop morning, guys I, know lots of people out there. In fact, millions of people out there are like me, and they like reasonable-sized phones and that's why, over here with me, the Samsung Galaxy has 20 and not the s20 ultra seriously, guys I'm sick of listening about Ultra ultra ultra all the time social media feeds YouTube, Ultra, ultra sick of it. Anybody who loves the s20 guys crack on I am only going to post as 20 videos on my channel only and nothing else. This is the logical size.

Jay stop I, will sorry guys. Okay! So now, let's get back into the phone open. The box up and her are heavy go. This is the new Samsung Galaxy S 20, the regular sized 6.2 inches, which makes so much more sense. This is by the way the cosmic gray color I wanted to get the other one, but I thought I liked the Craven more by the way lots of unboxing like I, said earlier.

Our European has 20 years 20 pluses of the ultras. This problem is not the only few UK unboxing, so this is we're going to get once you get the phone from carbon. Where else carries over ever you go anyways, let's put the phone aside and let's see what else do we have in the box very quickly, so we have the UK at 3, pin a charger guys as opposed to the two, and you've seen in most unboxing. So this is the superfast charger and sundries training is a superfast charger. This probably is not as fast as you have on the OnePlus 770 and the other series, but fast enough.

Hopefully so let's have a look at the rating, then you got 5 volts, 3, amp and 9. Volt 2.7 am, and also 5.9 3?m and 11 volts and 2.2 m. So yes fast, but not as fast as you have liked I said on the OnePlus flagship series. Let's see what is inside in here, then this is the type-c USB cable. Now things that change a little as you can see.

Now you have a regular you. We poured on the charger and also a USB port on the other end, because all these new gadgets new cars they all coming with type C use reports, that's why the trend is now changing, and they're getting you to adapt this way. Instead, okay, what else we have the earbuds, the typical AKG, a branded earbuds, as you can see guys there we go, and you got some extra pair of earbuds with that as well and by the way, this time they are Type C, so you can plug it into your Samsung Galaxy S 20 straight away. There we go without any fuss, and you'll be hooked up straight away without any issues. No converters no adapters required.

So this is a good move from Samsung, not too bad. Okay. So now, let's put everything away and let's have a look and see what the phone is all about: okay, so the beautiful of cosmic rays or let's peel the cover off in the back wow that feeling every single time, I unbox a phone has not diminished just yet, even though I've done so many unboxing. Let's look first at the bottom of the phone. Then we got this nice speaker on the right-hand side.

As always, in the past couple years, the Samsung Galaxy flagship phones have dual speakers set up the bottom speaker and the front earpiece acting as the second speaker, and obviously they are told, be at more speakers. I will be testing this against the Samsung, Galaxy S, 10, Opera, v and other phones that I have got, and we'll see how these Peters performed types. Two USB, along with the mic here, on the left hand, side all flushed for the first time in a long time, so I'm glad to see that on top, you got your SIM tray along with your micro SD card expansion. Should you wish to another noise, cancelling mic right at the top? And on the right hand, side is where your power button is along with the volume rockers along the power button. You can see, it's got a bit of curve to it, and this is a slight design change from looking at from the Samsung Galaxy s 10, and this one quite nice and quite aerodynamic I must admit, even though the phone does not need any aerodynamics, but still it looks quite nice and flushed, so I like it, okay, so also at the back, you got a bit of slight camera bump.

This is not as take or as protruding as you have on the Samsung Galaxy s xx outran always got more tech, more lens and more zooming power. This is the regular s20 flagship with three regular cameras which we will discuss in the days and weeks to come. Obviously, the ultra, while the regular normal telephoto lens, so we'll be taking quite a few samples pictures of my social media, also videos on my YouTube channel 8 k, 4k, 1080p, 60fps, we'll test in the zoom and everything else and see how that goes. I'm hearing that the autofocusing is a bit slower than opposed to what we had on the s10 s, 90 s 8, because these lengths don't have the dual pixel technology anymore. However, I will test it, and we will have a look in depth once I've lived enough, the phone also he got the dual tone: LED flash as well, which is quite nice and all in all a good-looking phone- are very easy to hold phone in with one hand and tested reason why I got the Samsung Galaxy S 20, because it's very, very easy to hold with one hand it has a total width of 69 point 1 millimeters, which is very, very good.

In my personal opinion, anything under 70 millimeters in width is quite easy to manage with one hand. Now, let's have a look at the Samsung Galaxy S 10. Next to it. This is the flagship from last year which I had along with the s20, and this phone has got a slightly more VUT of 70 point four millimeters once again just crossing that threshold, which I just said I prefer. However, if the phone is still very, very manageable, as long as around the 70 millimeter mark, it should be quite manageable, but ideally I won't like it too happy below 70 millimeters, like you have on the Samsung Galaxy s 20.

So if I hold them both with one hand, even though I feel comfortable, but I feel more comfortable holding the Samsung Galaxy s 20. A similar pattern was also followed by the Sony Xperia v, the flagship from Tony so far, I know we are hearing about Sony Opera, the new one coming out very soon already, but this is the current flagship from Sony so far- and this has a width of 68, millimeters I prefer even less, which is great.68 millimeters is in fact the ideal width you can see. My thumb can go all the way across to the other side of the screen, which means I can easily type with one hand and also hold the phone with one hand, even though this is slightly wider than 20 but still very manageable, and my thumb can go all the way across on to the other side. So it's not looking too bad. Both phones are very, very comfortable and tested reason why I prefer this kind of phones, because there's so much easier to hold with one hand- and this is one thing I can never get out of it.

I would always prefer smaller phone the day. This om s, stop making the less wide phones I will stop buying these phones and I read over to some other brand who's, giving me this ability to hold the phone with one hand. Now, if you look at the one plus six from last year, it had a similar issue, even though this is one of my favorite phones of all times superb performance, even till this day with Android 10, superb battery life, everything is fantastic, and it's phone cameras that isn't enough very fast fingerprint sensor. However, the width on this phone is seventy-five point, four millimeters, which is one of the widest I've ever had so, despite all that, every feature everything I love about the phone. This is one thing: I don't like about the phone, as you can see, he's putting up bit of pressure on my palm, and I'm, unable to put my thumb all the way across meaning I wouldn't need two hands to use this phone and same as the story with the OnePlus 70, which I also have at the moment the phone is occupied, but that phone has got a 74 point.

Four millimeters wait, but this is seventy-five point: four, as opposed to Samsung. Galaxy has 20, which has 69 point one, so anything below 70 mil or around 70 millimeters is easier to handle, and that's why Xperia v, Samsung Galaxy S 20 and the Samsung Galaxy S 10 will remain one of my favorite phones throughout this year so far because I love the ideology behind that which is for those people who love to use phones with one hand, and they have a reasonable size of around sixth to six point: two six point three inches. So this is the ideal for me: okay, enough of the comparisons back to this main flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy s 20. So now, let's boot, this phone up and watch his boots, let's quickly go through the basic spec, the Samsung Galaxy S 20, the one I've got is the Enos 990 that the European, if you're in America you'll, be getting the Snapdragon 805 version. Most of you follow me.

You know the Enos versions have always been very far same as their star trekking 865 siblings. However, the only one area where the axon of slacks is the battery life on my Samsung Galaxy s, 10 I will be putting a video up very soon. The battery is pretty mediocre. However, on the Snapdragon version of this phone still till this day, even when n were 10, the phone's getting a very good decent battery life. Okay, so our not got the phone up and running. Let me quickly configure this guys, and I'll be back in just a moment: okay, so I'm back out on the basic setup on the s20. It was very, very quick and take me long. So, first and foremost, let's have a look at the settings going to display and see.

If you can take off the adaptive brightness there we go and putting on manual. I prefer metals with a, can control and see how good the quality is on, and the Samsung Galaxy S 20 display- and this place seems very bright, very nice very punchy of the quad HD, so their displays aren't the best in the market I've seen over the years. Okay. So, let's get back and to display again and let's see if we can look at the refresh rate now, there's one thing that has often been spoken about on the OnePlus 70 that I've got it's got those 90 Hertz, and it makes a significant difference, even though it wasn't as obvious to me, like I, did say in my unboxing. It did make a difference.

Yes, your fingers tend to your know slight, a bit smoother the response times to increase, but not significant, so it'd be interesting to see how big a jump is from 60 to 120. Here this is it almost double the kind of reference fresh rate and I would like to see how this goes so, let's step into 120, apply it and see how this goes. Okay, so, let's tap on actually what this slider thing is also not on. You should be able to swipe across, like that. A notification will come down, so I think the way to do is and go into settings and then, if I remember correctly display going to home home screen, and it should be optioned there to slide down.

They go swipe down for notification panel. There we go guys so now, if you slide down, you can obviously bring the notification panel down without having to stretch all the way like this with your hand. Okay, so one unused, that's what I prefer guys. So, let's use it with one hand: okay, so now, let's get into settings again and let's have a look and see if we can also get the sound on, which is the tapping song. First and foremost, I prefer that I think's in the air system sound, and they go touch interaction.

Now you can hear all the stuff. In the background, all this tapping that I'll do, so I like that. Also, what we check in, let's have a look at the stories that we have on the Samsung Galaxy S 20. This is by the way, like I, said to you earlier the Enos 990 version. It comes with eight gigs of ram and also has 128 gigs of storage.

So let's go device care and from here we go into storage. As you can see, it's got: 128 gigs of total storage and 8 gigs of ram and the Samsung s 20 plus, and the s20 ultra also come in 12 GB variants, if I remember correctly, might not be destined as 20 plus, but the s20 ultra. It definitely comes in the 12 gig ram version. Okay, now time to check the actual speakers on the phone, as we know, like I, said, the phone call dual speakers' setup, one at the bottom, one on the top and the phone is called Dolby Atmos as well, which is there at the moment, switched off. So let's get onto YouTube and play a track and see how it sounds.

You know, like always, the s flagship series I've got fantastic set of speakers, one of my favorites on any Android phone, even though there might be some which might be able to beat them, but I always liked the way Samsung of tuned their speakers a punchy. The crisp we've got a nice bit of bass to it and very clear sound, especially when you turn the Dolby Atmos on. As you can see they a while ago. I was telling it on and off, and it does make a significant difference to the actual sound coming out. Once you turn on Dolby, Atmos, okay and our time to test the camera and see how that is on the Samsung Galaxy s, 20 I've got a couple of test addresses you can see in the background.

I'll go this here: the upper water bottle, along with my blue mic, so we'll take a few shots of these test subjects and see how this goes. So, let's turn the camera on, can do photo mode and, first and foremost, fewer shot of the regular lens at 1x, the regular x, or you can go into point 0.5 X as well. This is always in the ultra-wide lens, but let's go into the normal, a regular 1x mode and let's take a couple of shots and see how good the quality is. There we go there. You go what's that on top.

This is the scene optimizer, so we leave it switched on by because by default it is already switched on. Okay, now, let's zoom in a little up to 3x and see how good the quality is leaving go, but down the volume bit there. We go. Okay, so back to normal again, let's go back into the upper water bottle, hashtag be a short maker. There was the event that ended in London, not long ago.

There we go, and now, let's zoom into it a bit there, we go stays quite smooth and sharp, not bad, and then at the bottom here as well, there we go and now let's try the ultra-wide lens, which covers both the mic and the bottle there. We go not looking too bad once more. There you go so without tapping on the screen and doing anything else, I've been able to obviously capture a few shots. So this is the ultra-wide lens, as you guys can see, so getting in all the way. The quality is OK, as you can see, there's a bit of blur in the image and also on there on here, because it's the colors green.

So he was able to retain the accuracy much better as opposed to what it was on that mic. So, okay, SH average I, would say not the best so far mind you. The conditions are pretty tough here as well on this one. It's a lot better than before, but still you can see, the image is still not as accurate and as sharp as it should be and similar with the bottle as well. So now, let's get into the regular lens there you go guys zoom in on this photo.

This was up to 3x. As you can see, the color accuracy is much, much better, and you can easily read Indian Wells ICC Cricket, World Cup 2019 in global partner Opp, so not looking too bad, be a short maker. Again lots of text green, so very sharp, not looking too bad here on the bottle itself from the regular lens looks very, very nice once again going into 3x on the mic. This is much better as it was opposed to what it was before. Okay, so back into the images again there we go all right on the regular lens.

It's looking very sharp, very nice. You can see volume and mute. Both are looking very nice, and so is the blue logo. The texture here as well is very, very nice, so, overall, the camera quality is good, not bad, but obviously this is just a few shots indoors. Once I go out and about I will take a lot more photos and videos.

So please do stay tuned to my social media so guys these were the first impressions and unboxing of the Samsung Galaxy S xx I'll be testing the fingerprint sensor in a separate video, as this one seems to be a lot more accurate and faster, as opposed to what we had on the Samsung Galaxy s, 10, which are still even till this. They struggle to used, probably at times it does work at time. It doesn't, and it's a bit slower than opposed to what you have on the Xperia v and the OnePlus 70, so I thought I will do a dedicated video on the fingerprint sensor on the s20. To give you guys an idea how fast and quick it is. That's pretty much it from me for today.
