Galaxy Note 9 camera gets S10's Night Mode (New Update)

Greetings and welcome back to new video on the Samsung Galaxy note 9, and it's been so long since I made a video about the note 9, but Samsung has just released a new update which brings three new features to the camera of the note 9, the Galaxy S 9 plus, has already got as update. So if you want to watch that video click over here now guys before we start the video, if you like my content, make sure to subscribe to me on YouTube and hit that Bell icon so that you can get notifications to my latest uploads and do follow me on Instagram and on Facebook. All the links are down in the video description. Now this update brings three new features. Most notably, the night mode has been carried over from the s10 plus on to the node 9 now, so there is a dedicated night mode on the camera of the s10 plus and guys. Let me tell you a night mode as awesome compared to pictures taken in auto mode versus night mode.

There's a clear difference. Pictures taken in night mode are much clearer, so here's a full screenshot of a picture that I clicked really note 9. Obviously this picture has been taken after the update thanks to the magic of video editing, but, as you can see, there's a huge difference in a photo that has been shot at night mode and in party mode and picture quality of night mode on the s9 plus is exactly the same as you would get on the s10 Plus over I've already done the comparison, so yeah I think the night mode on the node time will also be exactly the same as it is on the s10 plus and the second new feature you're getting on the North. Ninth camera is background. Blood intensity control in life focus for the selfie camera, so just for a quick demonstration.

This is how it will look like on the note 9 after the upgrade so in the front-facing camera. When you turn on light focus, you get this blur control, seven steps, block control and then another feature you get on. The note line is QR code scanner, so you can scan QR codes right away from your phone. You won't need to download any additional apps and guys, if you don't see the software update available message on your node tinned head over to settings scroll all the way down tap on software update and then tap on, download and install. If you do this, the phone will forcefully check if there's a software update available with Samsung servers and if there is an update available, you will see it in the node vacation part over here and on this screen and by the way I'm using a note 9, which is unlocked- and this is the Enos version of the note 9.

So let's go ahead and download the upgrade and finally update our phone to get all the new features, and this update will take about five six minutes. Stare at the phone will not be usable when you're updating it so do keep that in mind and the size of the update is also quite huge. So it's 734 megabytes, and it also brings the first June 2019 security patch level. Alright, so the update is now ready to be installed, tap and install now to begin now. I'm just going to keep my phone here.

It's going to take about 10-15 minutes. Ok, so, as you can see, the software update is now complete, just press on ok and guys if your phone gets hot during and after the update, don't worry about it, just plug your phone into the charger and let it set on the table or five to ten minutes and let the phone stabilize and after that you can use it. Ok. So now, let's check out the new features in the camera and if I go over here there is a dedicated night mode. So this is a new feature carried over from the s10 series and then, let's see the QR code.

Scanner is available. Yes, scan QR codes is available. Now many products in the market have this QR code on them. You can just point your note, 9 camerae, and it will give you a little prompt and I can just tap over here to go to the product webpage. So this is TP links, Bluetooth music receiver, and you can see that it has taken me to this webpage just by scanning the QR code and there's another QR code on here.

So there's a QR code on the hard drive of my computer. Let's see if the phone can scan that well there you have it if I tap over here it will take me to Western Digital website and there you have it so now, let's check out life focus in the front-facing camera and let's see if we get that background blur control. So there you go, there's a seven-step background blur control, and you can see it does work. So take a look at that. Did you see that got blurred but yeah? This works better on the s10 plus, because we have dual front-facing cameras on here.

So I'm going to take some pictures with night mode, and then I'm going to compare them with and without night mode, and just show you guys how the picture quality is light by the way the picture quality will be exactly the same as it is. Look at that it's reading the QR code on the hard drive over there quite sensitive I'm, just going to turn it off for a while I, don't think I'm going to compare them with the s10 plus, because the picture quality is exactly the same as it is on the s10 plus. There is no difference in the cameras except the s10 has an ultra wide-angle camera, so got the lights turned down in my room: let's fire up the camera and take a photo in night mode, but you know what first, let's take a photo in auto mode so that we can get a baseline of what we are seeing here. So first auto mode, going to click, a picture and now, let's head over to night mode and click a photo here and by the way can you see that hold your phone steady while taking night shots, so you actually have to hold the phone steady for about five seconds after pressing the shutter button. So here we go hold your phone, steady and that's it now.

The phone is processing the picture. You can see that and that's it. So this is the photo that we shot in night mode and this in normal mode, our auto mode, so again, nine-point auto mode and let's go to the PC, because you cannot really tell over here on the phone screen. So, let's head over there and check these photos out. So here we are I've, taken some photos with the node tines night board and without night mode, so that we can compare and by the way you are watching this video in 4k.

The display resolution is 38 for you into 2160, so you are pretty much going to see 100% zoomed in photos, alright. So let's start off with this one. So this is without night mode, and this is with night. You can clearly see the difference now. This is at 100% zoom, so you are pretty much looking at full 100% zoomed in photo.

So let's move on to the next one. So this is 2008 mode pay attention to this part and the next one is with night mode turn on. So did you see that without night mode with night mode, so night mode does take like a better picture? The overall quality is the same, but now that exposure over there that is perfect in night mode without night mode and with night board. So let's move on to the next photo. So this is without night mode and then midnight mode.

So you can see there is a huge difference over here without night mode and with night mode and once again, like I've, said this is 100% zoomed in because we are recording this video in 4k without night pod and with night mode and by the way, guys I have clicked these photos in almost complete darkness. So here's a little clip of me clicking these photos. So, as you can see, it's almost complete darkness and the result the and the result of the no times' camera is fantastic with night, more turn on, so I'm quite happy with the quality of these photos. Night mode works great I am really happy with it. I think this was the photo that I was clicking in my video without night rod, hand with night mode what a big difference.

This is without night board hand with night mode, there's a day and night difference between these photos, I really like it when brands continuously add new features to their phones, especially when the new features are coming from their new flagship models, and this is without night board and with night mode pay attention to this veal over here. Without my pod, clearly, details are lost and with night mode you can see there are much more details on the photo, so this is at 100% zoom when you're. Looking at these pictures in 1080p, you can zoom in a lot more, but not on a 4k is because the resolution of the camera on the note 9 is all megapixels. Only so now, let's move on to the next picture, without night mode and with night mode, not much difference in this picture, so this is without night mode and with night mode. I.

Don't know why this picture yeah that this has a lot of difference. These two photos- and this is the picture that we clicked. So this is in auto mode and night mode. You can't really read the GeForce archaic logo, but with nitro turned on it's completely visible, so I am impressed by the note science camera it's become even better and the S 9 and the s9 + have also received this upgrade, and we're back so yeah I hope you have enjoyed a couple of these photos. Yeah particularly I, was impressed by these photos.

So this one and this one and you guys know I, shot these in almost complete darkness, very impressive for a phone camera, so I think that's pretty much it when it comes to new features on the camera. Oh, and one more thing: whenever you plug your phone in there, is this new charging animation this one? Even my s, 10 does not have that. So that's new once again now plug this thing in, so that is the new charging animation. Alright, guys that wraps it up for this video hope you've enjoyed and my take on this update is quite positive, and you know what I love it when phone manufacturers seed out new features from the latest flagship to the last generation flagships so kudos to Samsung for this yeah I kind of like this new night mode update. So thank you for watching this stay tuned for more videos like these, and I will see you guys next time.
