Black Shark 4 Honest Review: The BEST Budget Gaming Smartphone You Can Get! By Lim Reviews

Hey guys welcome back to another video with LIM reviews today we're going to be checking out a very interesting device. This is the black shark 4 that I've been using for almost a week now. So it's a very exciting device right here, because it comes with a lot of features at a very affordable price range. So this obviously is a gaming phone right here, and it just was launched in Malaysia, for I think, like a week ago or so, and the price here in Malaysia was rm2299 and depending on which country you're from the pricing will definitely differ based on your region, all right, so I actually have already unboxed this guy right here and what came in the box was a pretty extensive list of items. Obviously we do have the phone itself. We also have a very, very nice 67 watt charger in the box.

It also comes with the type c cable at the back there. You have this rather interesting plastic case, so I'm not sure how much protection it will give, but it does look pretty cool right here and suits the overall gaming team and last but not least, you also get a couple of stickers. It's a bit far off for me, but there you go. You have these black shark stickers that looks pretty cool all right, so we're going to focus today mainly on the black shark 4. , like I said, I've been using it for close to a week now, as my daily, and I've been gaming a lot so in this video, it's gonna, be all about me.

Sharing my honest experience with you guys uh. This is how we do it on limb reviews the channel itself, always the honor stuff here uh, so that you guys know whether you should purchase this device right here all right, so we're just going to start off very quickly with the way it looks uh. Personally, I'm not sure if I'm a huge fan of this design right here, but this is a rather different approach for a gaming device. There's no fancy LEDs or whatnot, but what we do get is this really fancy back design right here, the x that you can see actually moves around a little as you tilt the device from side to side even from front to back. It is a very interesting back panel right here.

Obviously, if you're not into this kind of design, they also have the matte back, which is a bit more plain, so you do also get that three camera setup at the back, which is completely almost completely flush with the device itself. So there's no camera bump at the back here, and that's definitely great apart from that. It does feel a little thick in my hands and uh. Maybe that's because of the battery! That's in this device right here, so it's a pretty big one. I think it's like 4500mah uh, we'll talk a little about that later.

At the front, we are greeted with a very nice 6.67 inch AMOLED display with a 144 hertz refresh rate. So this is definitely one of the better ones out there. But I'll talk a little more about that in a bit at the front. Here we also get our selfie camera. It is a very small camera cut out at the top, and I definitely appreciate this because it doesn't get in my way at all when I'm viewing the display head on so in terms of top and bottom the chin and that forehead, it is quite symmetrical here.

You don't get a lot of bezels on top and bottom and I definitely am digging the design of this device right here so moving on to the sides. This is where we do have our fingerprint scanner. That also acts as a lock button, and we also have two mechanical triggers right here that you can just activate by just sliding them up, and you have that additional two physical buttons that you can use to you know play your games and all that. So it's really cool. I, like the mechanism, you do have a sound effect when you launch that up, I'm not sure if you can hear it but yep, it feels very satisfying to just lock it up right there and of course you can also use this as a shortcut key, so I've programmed mine to turn on the flashlight.

So I have like effectively a flashlight button going on right here, just hit to on it and turn off very, very nice to use on the left. We do get your volume rocker, as well as a sim card tray, so this is pretty much it at the bottom right here, not forgetting. We also have our headphone jack, which is still here, your type c port and, of course, dual stereo speakers right. So that's just a walkthrough on what this device looks like, and it's all about uh. Now, let's talk a little more about the experience after using this black sharp 4 here for that close to one week so, first up I want to talk a bit about that display.

So, like I mentioned earlier on, this is a 144 hertz, a refresh rate, and I've been using it at its maximum refresh rate. Everything is blazing fast and smooth uh to show you a quick example of this. I've actually launched this BMW pre-owned cars. No, I'm not buying a BMW. I can't afford that, but just look at how fast it just glides guys like it's really fast and if you're coming from a 90 hertz display or something like that, you will definitely be able to see the difference.

Look at that, it's just still scrolling and it's so buttery smooth. This is definitely one of the smoothest displays I've seen in quite a while now, and you can expect it to just give you that very nice buttery uh kind of feeling throughout the entire UI. Everything is just freaking fast guys, apart from that, it also comes with the 720 hertz touch sampling rate, so it's super responsive. Every touch that you have is just like instant, and it's just so responsive guys. So this is one thing that I did notice on the display of the black shark 4.

Of course, I'm not exaggerating here, I'm used to using a lot of flagship devices, but you can definitely feel that the display on the black shark 4 here is just that bit more responsive and a bit more fluid if you may all right. So one thing that I did not really like about this display, though, is that the brightness does not get the brightest. When I was outdoors, the brightness levels was okay. I did wish it was a bit brighter, but other than that, I absolutely love this uh display right here, because it is very good uh, not just for you know, interacting with the user interface, but also when you browse stuff- and you know, watch shows and all that it's also hdr10, plus uh rated by the way. So you can watch some pretty nice movies over there.

So overall, I'm still very happy with the display that we're getting here now. The second thing I want to talk about here, and I'm going to jump straight into the battery here, because this is the second thing that really amazed me right here. So this device right here it comes with, like I said, that's now a 4500mah battery, and it supports up to 120 watts fast charge guys this is 120 watts fast charge, and how fast is that? Basically, black shark is claiming that this device can go from 0 to 100 in less than 15 minutes. You heard that right, guys, 15 minutes so unfortunately uh my 120 watt charger here wasn't really able to test it. But, like I said uh, it did come with a 67 watt charger in the box, and you might think that this is actually very slow, but you might be wrong there, because this charger is equally fast, so for this device here to go from zero to 100.

It now takes about, I think, about 20 minutes or so um. That's actually very, very fast guys. I don't actually charge my device at night anymore, because whenever I wake up in the morning, let's say it's like 35 or 38 percent. I just put it to charge, I go and take a shower, and I'm right out back with a hundred percent. So this is something that I really appreciate.

Uh from black shark for here the charger and the charging is just so quick that you do not worry about running out of battery, so just in case you're wondering what kind of battery life we're getting here, I would say that we can get about seven to eight hours of screen on time and depending on how much you game uh. That will definitely affect your battery life as well, but uh. This is definitely a pretty good battery right here, and I'm very confident with the charging speeds that I can get from the charger itself. All right now done with that. The third thing I want to talk about here is that gaming experience.

So, as you can see from my device right here, I do have a couple of games. I have my PUBG, my Genshin Impact and my mobile legends, which I do play the most so play mobile legends on this device, guys its just a breeze. Apart from that junction impact run pretty smoothly as well. I do not have any issues with gaming on this device. Like I said, everything is just buttery smooth, and it launches very quickly.

Obviously it does tend to heat up a little ever so slightly when I play Genshin Impact, but that's because the graphics settings are at its maximum. It can support that, but just bear in mind that it will take a little of toll on that heat that you get at the back, but black shark 4 is saying that we do have this liquid cooling system at the back here. So it's not as warm as other devices that has the snapdragon 870 in here, but yeah it is. It does get a little warm, sometimes but other than that. If you're playing like normal games like PUBG or mobile legends, it will just fly.

Everything is just so smooth, and I enjoy every of my experience just gaming on this device right here, all right. So now that we've done talking about gaming, I want to talk a little more about this device if you're not really like a hardcore gamer. So if you're, just looking for a device here to use on a daily, I would say that the snapdragon 870 uh paired with the eight gigabytes of ram uh paired with 128 gigabytes of internal storage, is definitely more than enough for what you might need bear in mind that we are obviously having UFS 3.1 storage right here. So it's fast storage and in terms of your ram, it's LP ddr5, so definitely very fast stuff going on with the black shark 4. Here I don't want to just look at this as a gaming device guys.

I also want to look at this as something that I can use on my daily and without a doubt I would say that this device right here, even if you're, not a gamer, you can definitely leverage on the specs from this device right here to get you through the day perfectly fine. So that's with the performance on this device right here all right. So, let's move on to the next point. Now, let's talk a little about the cameras at the back, because we do have a triple camera setup at the back. Here we have a 48 megapixel main sensor, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 megapixel macro.

So naturally I did take a lot of photos using this camera itself, because I wanted to test it out, but I must say that the camera here is definitely not his strongest point, but even while saying that, I must say that I'm quite impressed with the kind of details that he was able to capture with the black shark 4 right here on its 48 megapixel sensor. So here are a couple of sample images taken by the black sharp 4. Just for you guys to evaluate and see what kind of images you can expect to get from this device right here, all right guys now that I've done talking about that camera. Let me talk about the other features that you can get from the black shark 4 right here. So first up like I showed you guys earlier on in the video.

We do have this side buttons here they call it the mechanical shoulders or something like that. It's actually pretty good, because not only can you use it for gaming, if you just hit it like this, you can activate your sharp space, a 4.0 or something like that, and this is where you can get into your gaming settings. So you can set quite a lot of stuff here. If you just hit the settings button, you can actually choose what kind of features you want to turn off during your games, so you can reject your calls. Uh! Stop your notifications from coming in uh, just lock the brightness levels and a couple more stuff here.

So there's a pretty nice thing right there that you can get from this black shark 4 right here. Apart from that, I want to talk very quickly about the haptics engine on this device right here. The haptics here is also very good to use. It comes with those subtle kind of haptic feedbacks that actually vibrate, so that it is an it feels different guys compared to your standard kind of smartphones, uh, of course, with gaming phones. These days we always have a pretty good haptic engine right here and that's what I can say for the black shark 4 as well, all right guys.

Last but not least, let's talk very quickly about the kind of audio quality that you can get from the black shark 4. So, like I mentioned earlier on, we do have stereo speakers on top and bottom and the audio quality coming from it is that it's quite good, the sound sounds great. We have decent bass and very crisp kind of audio, but the volume doesn't get the loudest right here. It's definitely not one of the loudest devices that I've heard from the kind of devices that I've tested. So let me just play a very quick sample for you guys to hear this is about one arm's length from where I'm sitting right here.

So let's just play that music and let you get a quick example of what it sounds like alright guys. So, as you can see, I just put on my iPhone right after the video just now, so you can actually hear the kind of difference in volumes, but just to sum it up. I just want to point out that the audio doesn't get the loudest, although it's still quite decent, to hear from all right guys. I think that's pretty much it from my experience that I want to share with you regarding the black shark 4 right here again. If you ask me, is this something that I would recommend, I would say: definitely yes, if you're looking for something to game or if you're, just looking for a device to use on your daily and your budget happens to sit around rm2299.

This is something that you should definitely check out because it comes with quite a long list of features here. Uh, like I said I especially like that 144 hertz display the 720hz sampling rate. It also comes with a very fast charging one of the fastest, if I'm not mistaken, that I've seen so far, and yes there's just quite a lot to love about the black shark 4 right here, even after using it for one week now all right guys if you have any questions regarding this device right here, please let me know down in the comment section below.
