Asus Zenfone 8 - Quick Look

Subscribe now and press the bell icon, never miss an update, hello everyone and welcome to a very early sneak peek at the newest flagship phone from ASUS. You might not immediately think about flagship phones and then ASUS, but the truth of the matter is that over the past couple of years they have really wowed us with a bunch of innovations and just overall great build quality and almost stock android in their before series, and that is what they're actually well set to continue with this, I can confirm, I mean you've, just seen the reveal properly or, if you're, just scrolling by this video. This might be the first thing you're the first time you're seeing it, but this is the ASUS before 8 their brand-new flagship, and let me just tell you right off the bat that if you've been observing the market and seeing the five six seven hundred euro price brackets in the market kind of explode with perfect value products. Well, this is going to basically topple them all. So I'm actually turning this on. For the first time, I've only briefly looked at the spec sheet, and we've only just received this, but let's go over what makes this so exciting, because when I looked at the spec sheet I was like wow because we'll end with the price, and I'll just tell you the specs, and you can tell me, or you can think it what you think this is worth so first off.

One thing that I want to note is that this is compact. It is compact, in the sense that this is a 5.9 inch, 169 gram, heavy phone, meaning that it is significantly smaller than most of your big flagship phones, sure it is around the same size. I think, as the regular Samsung Galaxy s21 itself being positioned as a sort of budget friendly version of what then would become the s21 plus and ultimately the s21 ultra, but it does seem to be around the same size as that and your regular iPhone 12, but it is smaller than you would think, but there's just a bunch of good news here. So, first off inside this phone inside this particular phone, we have the snapdragon 888 5g. You can get this up to 16 gigs of lpddr5 ram, meaning that this is an absolute powerhouse which is completely on par with ASUS's own ROG phone or the Samsung Galaxy s, 21 ultra the most expensive flagships on the market, 16 gigs of ram and the snapdragon 888.

Well, that's good news. Already there the display itself, it's a 120, hertz, e4 AMOLED, and it's even bought in from Samsung, meaning that you've probably seen this panel before that means lovely brightness, 100, 100, nits, hdr10, plus support all of that jazz and great delta ease and DCI p3 color gamut coverage. All of that stuff is in here for a total pixel density of around 445 PPI. I believe the point of the matter is that this panel is a panel that we have showered with praise before and here we have it in a much cheaper package. Again I haven't told you the price, but it is cheaper than you would think.

Apart from that, we have the regular one millisecond response time: 240 hertz touch response and haptic feedback from a pretty high quality haptic motor again. That is something that we'll have to uh gonna, have to test thoroughly on a different uh a different occasion, but there's also just other cool things. Here I mean the panel is her is smaller 5.9 inches, but still you got a 4 000 William hour battery, and you can harbor charge with the charger you get in the box with up to 30 watts. I think that's totally fine actually and on the back here we do have a completely matte finish, meaning that this is not going to pick up any finger smudges, which I think is great. I mean I do have a little sticker on here, which I could just briefly remove.

So you can get a sense of its back completely, and I do think it looks very pretty matte black, of course, or matte gray. You got two cameras um, and it seems that ASUS was keen on sort of getting rid of the whole. You know. Four camera system means quality issue that we've seen still. It is a weird set of lenses, so you do have your 12 megapixel uh ultra-wide here, which is the Sony mix 363 and that actually doubles as a macro camera.

I don't really know a lot of people that really craves a macro camera, but it is here, and then you have a Sony mix 686 sensors, which is a 64 megapixel sensor, um as your main lens, which can also be utilized as a telephoto, so only two lenses, but two really versatile lenses, which should give you a lot of options when you shoot whether the actual uh photos, depending on also on how it uses software to sort of uh, uh. You know crop these photos together and make them look nice. That is something that we simply don't know yet, and the screen itself is actually covered by gorilla, gorilla, chronicler gas Vitus. That is great um. It also has a headphone jack, something that almost all big flagships have pretty much cut all of them, and I mean big, like great uh, wide Sony, mix sensors on the back check.

Snapdragon 888 check, 120 hertz ammo LED display, check, um a matte finish, meaning that it won't pick up any fingerprints check a pretty. I would say nice hole, punch, cut out, selfie camera 12 megapixel check, pretty fast charging check, even something like a two large speaker, direct HD, sound setup um with an uh with a dual front facing speakers well check, and all of this is available for just starting at 599 euros. That's pixel, 5 money, that's cheaper than your regular iPhone 12, it's cheaper than the Samsung s21 starting at 5.99, and I mean the main thing that you're cutting there, I presume, is the amount of space or the amount of storage available, and you don't need 16 gigs of ram. So that's an obvious place to save money, so it pretty much could be 5.99 for you and if you are all right with the phone being small- and I am really all right with the phone being small, I mean this is incredible stuff. This is incredible stuff I mean again something can come up when you end up using it and I will, I'll try using it as much as I can.

But the cool thing here is that, from this a spec sheet point of view, which some people use mainly for their shopping, it's just great value for money. So it's on sale right now, I believe it's been revealed today. Go take a look. It's really exciting! Thank you. So much for watching see you on the next one.
