Asus Zenfone 8 Flip Unboxing! Flipping the Script! Not your Average Snapdragon 888 Flagship Phone! By Dr HamezTech

This is Dr Pakistan, and today we have here the before, 8 flip and just a fun fact, for you guys. I actually use an ASUS before before I use the before 4 back in 2014, yes back in those days, and that phone was just a complete mess. It's been a while, since I actually used an ASUS phone and going back to this phone is really, really nostalgic, and it does bring back some memories, and I'm super excited to check out this phone because of the major feature over here, which are the cameras. Of course, we can go through the other key specs and features as well. So yes, without further ado, let's get right into it.

So we'll start off with the unboxing over here, and what I got to say is that the box looks and feels really, really good. It is pretty big and chunky. That's what she said. It does have that gray, matte feel to it, which I really do like. So yes enough talking, let's just get this opened up all right.

It looks really, really nice, so uh. You do have a case over here and also your manual books and stuff which uh, let's be honest, no one actually reads, so I just put it over here the side pretty nice case over here. Pretty hard does have your plastic feel to it. It's not a silicone case, and it does have that texture to it, as you can see over here, just for the fun fact for you guys, if you guys did pre-order this phone, you will get a solid suitcase from rhino shield. So, yes, this is a very big and sturdy case, and you can see over here.

It does have your camera protection, which I'm super excited to check out. It does add to the excitement of this phone. So yes, I just put this over here on the side as well. This is the phone uh. We're gonna check about check this one out in a little.

I'm just super excited about this phone here. You do have your 30 watts of charging over here, and this is your USB c to USB cable, nothing much at all, so I just put this all the way to the side come on. This is all about the before 8 flip. There is a reason why they call this eight flip. So yes, let's just open this bad boy up all right.

Let's slide this out, save the plastic, save the environment and damn, oh man. It looks and feels whoa super premium. I have to say it's very, very shiny. I'm so going to show you with the OnePlus 9 pro I have over here, and this is just a little of comparison because both of them are pretty similar in color uh. This one.

It is a little reflective, but it does have that matte feel to it is over here like this part over here. So you don't going to get a lot of uh your face over here. You can't really see yourself. Yes, uh you're going to get a lot of fingerprints on the back over here. This is a much heavier phone 5000 Williams of battery compared to a 4500 over here, here yeah, it's a bit more reflective.

You can get a bit more of that fingerprints over here. So enough of the OnePlus 9 pro. This is all about the before 8 flip and yes, I have to say it looks really cool, and one thing to notice over here is that it does have that accent color. So yes, it's pretty fun and funky, pretty similar to your pixel phones and look at the camera flip camera I mean. Normally, people are putting brands out there, like your Lacey lens and whatever look at what ASUS is doing flip camera I mean come on.

This is pretty cool. So let me just set up this phone install some apps and go through the key, specs and features so here and just give me this some time over here, and I'll see you guys in a little all right. So we are into the phone very, very nice animations over there and now one thing I did notice about setting up this phone is, if you look at this software, it's very similar to what you're going to find on your OnePlus phones. So what I mean by that is, if you swipe down, you can see it's very similar and if you swipe down again, as you can see, it just looks really, really similar, and I think it's a perfect thing from what uh for what this uh ASUS is actually doing with their brands. I mean, if you look at the build and design they're flowing with what other flagship phones are doing when it comes to software they're filling what, with the oxygen OS is doing over here, keeping it very stock android experience, not much bloatware, which I did experience a lot with the before 8 flip.

So over here you can see it does have your fingerprint scanner in display over here. It's a quite nice placement over here right at the center, pretty not to say very sensitive, and I have to say the display looks really, really nice. So, yes, I'm just going straight on to the cameras over here, because normally I like to go through the key, specs and features, but for this I'm just going to go on to the cameras, because I'm just super, super excited and uh just before we go on there. Let's just slap on the case over here. This is how it actually looks like pretty nice, pretty simple uh, all right, pretty hard to take out as well.

It does have your before logo over here and if we go on to this over here, the rhino shield. I think this is pretty similar to what you can find with the uh cases from neon that brand as well. They do like to give this kind of camera protection over here. As you can see, it does protect your cameras as well pretty big, pretty sturdy, which of course, is a good thing, because this is a flagship phone flagship price. I got this for about 3 000 ringgits, Malaysia, which is, if you, you know kind of calculated.

Let me do some quick meds. It is about 800 USD, I would say, 750 USD pretty good price. I would say if you compare it to many other brands out there features of this phone. The main lens over here does come with a 64 megapixel shooter just forgot to tell you guys, and also it does come with an 8 megapixel ultra-wide and a 12 megapixel telephoto shooter. So enough talking, let's check out the cameras over here.

So main thing: let's check out that flip camera. As you can see, it's just super, super fun. It's superfast and uh. Yes, I'm wearing my singlet, because it's just super hot in Malaysia and let's just test out the speed over here. So let me see if I just flip here- all right: okay, okay, not to say super slow, but uh, pretty decent.

I would say when it comes to the speed image, looks really good nice uh details. I was saying good sharpness as well uh a little kind of grainy, I would say, and if I go on to the ultra white, perfect shot as well. Colors and details are perfect, and this is the main lens, and what I got to say is that yeah, I'm pretty impressed with the cameras pretty good, I would say I would say this is more of a b plus or a minus grid when it comes to camera. If you want to take some selfie shots over here, you can use your kind of zoom shoot here. You can, you know if you have more friends, you can take the ultra white as well, so you can see that my arms are just super long.

As you can see in this image. I like really like the details, so I mean the selfie shooter over here I mean come on. It's the main lens going on to the back. That is what you're going to expect. So, yes, let me just open this bad boy up, and this is how it actually looks like over here- and let me just slap on the case over here, if I kind of like just lock it in okay.

So let me see if I just cover this up and then move it in. As you can see here, they do have a place unlock the latch on your ASUS cover and then try again. So all right, that's kind of detected over here as well. So one more thing I that I want to test is the uh is, if, if it kind of like just falls back when it comes to this kind of cases, because if you do drop your phone, you don't want to damage the cameras over here. So let me see if this one does have that feature all right, as you can see there, if I kind of drop a text of four it kind of like just falls in all right, I think it's a yeah, it kind of starts over there, but I think it's pretty good mechanism.

Yes, I had the OnePlus 7 pro as well, which did have the pop-up camera. This is, of course much bigger than that. So yes, in terms of the building design yeah, I'm a bit in a mess over here today, because I'm just super excited with cameras over here and yes definitely I'm using this as my primary driver as well. I just want to check out this one and how good ASUS has improved their phones over the past six seven years since I used the ASUS before 4. So yes, this phone also does have a lot of good specs and features.

This one does come with your snapdragon 88, your latest and greatest from snapdragon. So yes, in terms of performance, I'm going to expect that this phone is going to be perfect. It does have your micro, SD expansion slot, and this one does come with 8 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of storage. But yes, like I mentioned you can expand the storage over here. So next thing we're going to talk about here are the displays and over here it does come with an AMOLED display as you would.

It is a kind of curved display over here. You do get a bit of some bezels on the sides and on the top here, and especially on the bottom here as well, which is a bit of a bummer because most of the days uh, you know all these flagship phones, they do have your minimal bezels, but I guess holding it and just using it, it's going to be quite enjoyable over here. You do have a 90 hertz panel. Only it's not your 120 hertz. But, to be honest, I think 90hz is still very good.

It's very fast. It's very snappy, it's very fluid as well and uh yeah I have to say display here, looks perfect. I'm going to play some content over here, some 4k content and just see how it looks like in terms of the peak brightness. It does go up to 1000, not your highest end, but pretty decent. So far, watching content over here it does look perfect.

Colors are pretty sharp, very, very good display, as you would expect from a flagship phone uh in 2021, so yeah displays are perfect. So next thing we're going to test out over here are the speakers. So let me just go to this one over here all right speakers on the bottom over here stereo speakers and also on the top here as well. Okay, so yeah speakers are really all right, as I think, if you compare this to many other phones out there, it's pretty similar Lao bass is good. Clarity is good, not the best, I would say, but then again you still get a decent set of stereo speakers, so yes, thumbs up.

For that last thing. We're going to talk about over here is the software side of things. So over here you do have your zen UI 8 on top of android 11 and so far my experience with it. What I have to say is that this phone feels very strong, android experiences. If you've been using phones like OnePlus pixel, I think you're going to feel right at home over here.

It's not too clunky, not too chunky with uh when it comes to this software side of things, which is something I did complain a lot when I was using my before 4, but using this phone, I'm going to say it feels very simple, very minimal listing. It does have a lot of features as well. If you would like to hear your advanced features, you have your game genie, which I thought was only on your rope. Five phones, you would have your gestures as well a lot of stuff, which you can customize again very, very similar to your kind of Oppo phones to your OnePlus phones. A lot of these features as well.

You then have some stuff as well. You do have a display which you can customize a little things and, of course, your refresh rate. Furthermore, you can go up to 90, hertz or 60 hertz, which can of course save some battery over there. So you have your classical buttons. You have all these other good stuff, uh yeah do they do have a bit of customization with this software, but not too cranky, not too heavy on any user.

I think this is a good thing, because you want to attract people to your phone to your brand and I think, if you want to keep it simple like this, this is a good way to go, and yes, like I mentioned I'll, be using this as my main driver for the next few days too few weeks. So I'm super excited to test out this phone.
