Apple Watch Series 6 After 1 Month: Decent Subtle Improvements (Series 3 Re-reviewed)

There's, no denying with every new Apple Watch and watch OS release apple is taking health tracking even more seriously than anyone else in the market. So I've been wearing the series 6 for about slightly more than a month now and at the same time, I'm testing the three-year-old Apple Watch Series 3, which is currently the most affordable app watch that you can buy right now from apple. So in today's video, I'm going to talk about my thoughts about the series 6 after using more than a month and to tell you why it is still worth considering the Apple Watch Series 3 over the cv6 there's no way to tell any visual differences of the series 6 from its predecessors unless you notice the new sensors at the bottom. That now measures your blood oxygen. Unlike the product rate, aluminum version you saw my colleague Yvonne wearing. This is the graphite stainless steel case model that features a sapphire crystal glass on the display that is stronger and more resistant to scratches, which is why, regardless of several accidental bumps onto walls and tables, I have not detected a single dent on my unit.

It justifies the additional premium over the aluminum model. The cv6 has some under the hood improvements that I think people healing from the series, 5 or older, will appreciate the first being the apple s6 sip, which apple claims to be 20 faster than the s5 always on display is now brighter at up to 500 nits, a new u1 ultra-wide band chip, which could potentially make connections to future Apple devices. More seamless and support for five gigahertz, Wi-Fi networks for faster download speeds and lesser connectivity interference. However, the most exciting news to know is that it has improved charging speed over the series 5, which is extremely useful when I need to quickly charge it when I need to track my sleep and the battery runs low. And yes, I absolutely love the charging reminder an hour before my bedtime.

While most of the series 6 hardware features, are readily available and standard on cheaper fitness, trackers and smartwatches, one thing that you will not get on them is the amazing software experience watch. Os is still as of now the best and most reliable smartwatch operating system that I have ever used. Watch OS 7 introduces several new watch faces. I really like as well such as the chronograph pro watch phase that features a tacky meter, the super cute emoji watch face and the artistic hypo graph watch face. I love how I can conveniently manage notifications now so that I wouldn't be bombarded with tons of WhatsApp messages all the time and, lastly, sleep tracking is finally a native feature on the operating system level, although it still doesn't provide the most complete information in the sleep app, it does help in providing more accurate data to third-party apps, which I'm personally using one called autosleep.

It gives me a perfect analysis of my sleep patterns, including heart rate, dips and blood oxygen levels. Also, I'm really glad that it goes into a kind of power saving mode when bedtime mode is active. So for one, you wouldn't easily wake the screen as you need to turn your digital crown to do so, and the battery depletes around 5 when tracking my sleep in my 7 hour, sleep schedule something that isn't possible back on watch OS 6. Hence, I can sometimes get more than a day of battery life and once again, I just love that faster charging speed. Now that you have realized most of the things I talked about is software.

This brings us to the three-year-old Apple Watch Series 3, which I think is still a worthy consideration. If you are thinking to get this for your kids senior folks or if you are on a tight budget for an Apple Watch with watchOS 7, you can configure this for your family members that don't necessarily need to own an iPhone, and they can still use most of the watches features. The classroom mode is particularly useful if you want your kids to focus on your studies during classes. Despite its age, the series 3 runs, watch OS 7.1 really well, and I do not detect any major performance issues, though you do lose out several things from the series 6, such as a smaller display and always on display feature for detection blood, oxygen sensor, lesser usable storage and watch faces. Otherwise, you still get to track your fitness activities, like you do on the series 6.

Battery life is slightly shorter and there's no fast charging feature, but I think most of these compromises are worth for its much lower price tag than the series 6. While it will probably not receive any more major watch OS updates due to its age, the apps and features are going to be way more usable than most other smartwatches. I mean think about it. What are the chances of other smartwatches getting more than a year of major software upgrades once again, the Apple Watch Series 6 is the best smartwatch to own if you have an iPhone, but I do have to agree with my colleague Yvonne that the series 6 is definitely not worth upgrading from the series 4 and 5, because you're getting a few hardware upgrades such as the spo2 sensor, the always-on altimeter uh, the faster charging feature and finally, a brighter always on display. Not unless you appreciate these features.

Otherwise, I really don't see any reason to upgrade to the series 6 if you already have the 5 or 4.
