2020 iPad Pro vs 16 Inch MacBook Pro - Which one to Buy?

Okay in the past, admittedly, I used to look at iPad more like an oversized iPod Touch, because that's what they basically were just a larger display, because no matter what clever marketing word Apple calls their iPad. It was extremely limited to an actual PC, but now that iPadOS is out that Former honestly changed everything and with the recent release of the newer generation iPad Pro like this one, for instance, this is the second-generation 11-inch iPad Pro there's also is a third generation, the 12.9 option, but both these new iPad pros are using the latest, a 12 Z Bionic ship, which actually puts out some impressive numbers, but just a few months after release of these latest iPads Apple, recently released their newest generation. MacBook Pros the 16-inch model with more powerful specs than ever before. You have the option to choose either between an Intel, i7, 6, core processor or an I-9 with some powerful GPUs. So technically, these two are Apple's most powerful mobile workstation computers, because Apple is also technically considering this to be classified as a computer as well. Now we're going to go ahead and put these two side-by-side and compare them against each other to better understand the real definition to apples marketing on how this thing can be your next computer, but it's not now ever since the 2018 iPad pros Apple ditched the Lightning port and replace it with a fully functioning USB, C port and now with iPadOS.

The iPad Pro now has support for external drives. You can plug it into an external monitor or even a USB-C hub other goodies that you could do now with this latest firmware is you could actually connect a Bluetooth mouse to it, as well as a keyboard, just like an actual laptop then soon? Let us not forget. A new magic keyboard is also on its way, which will not only give us an extra USB-C port on the side, but actually gives this advice a physical trackpad, just like a real laptop now. Yes, we know that this comparison isn't really fair, especially when the entry-level 16-inch MacBook was just 500. Gigabyte starts at about two thousand three hundred and nine dollars and the 11-inch iPad Pro that we have here starts at just seven hundred and ninety-nine dollars.

But the whole point to this video is to see if the iPad Pro can be a better choice to some people, because, although the two their price tags are far apart from each other, but even if you purchase every single accessory for the iPad Pro as well as get the same storage capacity as the MacBook, it still comes out to be a lot cheaper compared to the 16-inch Mac. So this is still going to be a great comparison to see what advantages do the iPad Pro have over this almost $2,500 MacBook Pro, because for starters, Geek bench five shows that the iPad Pro is a very capable machine. Just look at these performance score numbers, the iPad Pro and in single core outperformed, the Intel i7 16-inch Mac, but when it comes to this multi-core, the 2019 MacBook Pro outperformed about one thousand score differences, but that's really close for the price of its performance. So it's no slouch compared to the 16-inch Mac. As these iPad pros are now equipped with 6 gigabytes of RAM and in the 16-inch max, they come standard with 16 gigabytes of ram memory, but that low number of RAM isn't stopping the iPad Pro because, as we know, Apple always made their OS to be well optimized for a low number of RAM memory, and for my first-hand experience there hasn't been a time when I felt like this machine needs more RAM as its able to handle multitasking.

Just fine I, never really felt like it needed it, and, based from all that, I could definitely see the two major markets who the iPad Pro would make sense to buy. Instead of going all out and get the 16-inch, MacBook Pro now, obviously the benefit Swiss MacBook Pro. You don't have to buy anything separate as the keyboard and mouse. It's a laptop, that's obviously included, and then, with these latest MacBook Pros, you also get the touch ID as well as that touch bar and depending on the model that you select, you can get either two to four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, but all the MacBook Pros have a headphone jack. These Leia's iPad.

You have to buy a dongle but most importantly, was mac. Os you're not limited at all. So if you want to, you can install windows if you want or even Linux, if your main purpose is to use full desktop app, then obviously the Mac Pro is the workhorse for you and then for entertainment purposes. When watching like a Netflix movie or something you're going to find that the MacBook Pro has better sounding speakers. Here's a sound sample, so you get a better understanding.

Yes, the base is extremely noticeable on the 16-inch mat compared to the iPad Pro, but even the iPad Pro is still really impressive, because don't forget these latest generation iPad pearls, they have a quad speaker setup, so they're still going to be able to deliver that surround sound, feel, but a huge con when choosing between these two. Obviously the 6-inch Mac isn't hot as portable compared to the iPad Pro. If I was constantly traveling I'm going to go ahead and take my iPad Pro over my 16-inch Mac, the MacBook Pro is about 4 pounds less than the 1 pounds at this iPad pearl weighs. So if I had to carry this thing in my backpack for a long period of time, I'm going to take the iPad instead and then, when typing you don't necessarily have to have the iPad on your lap. You could always sit attach the keyboard pretend like this is on a keyboard, mine's arriving and Mel bury soon, but you can just DISA tech.

Hold it single handily. There isn't any issues, it's not that heavy and just used to on-screen keyboard was your finger, or you could use the Apple Pencil. Okay, just like a laptop and when you store it away with these type of cases technically protects its display, and since this part magnetically attaches, if you had the folio case or any other third-party keyboard in case that keyboard gets damaged either. If you spilled water, coffee over it or somehow damaged it, you can just go to a retail store and get that part replace with the laptop. You can't do that.

If you spill water on it, you run the risk of not just losing your data, it may cost you hundreds of dollars, and you have to take it to like a certified repair shop, which means you have to wait. X amount of days until you get your machine back with an iPad, you can just go, buy a new keyboard. Now, when it comes to the display between these two, you will find that the iPad Pro has a higher PPI rating compared to the 16-inch Mac, although it does have a larger display compared to the iPad Pro. The iPad Pro has more detail in its image. Accuracy as well is also brighter about a hundred nits brighter compared to the Mac, and then, when it comes to its overall battery life performance.

Apple says that the 16-inch MacBook Pro can achieve 11 hours, but that's a huge load of baloney. Maybe if you have your Wi-Fi off, or you're playing a movie on repeat with the brightness at 5%, you could probably achieve that 11 hour mark. But for my personal experience, the realistic numbers is anywhere from three to five hours on the iPad Pro. It's also listed to be able to achieve 11 hours of battery life under single charge. That's also a load of baloney, but doesn't Shiva hire better life on average.

For my experience, I'm able to get anywhere from 4 to maybe 6 hours under single charge. That's from my personal experience, so the iPad Pro can. Last you a little longer and then don't forget. The iPad Pro is the only one actually has the Apple Pro motion technology, which is perfect for not just when drawing because there's no delay when you're scribbling, but it's also great, especially when you're using it for gaming as technically. This is actually considered a console.

That's right. The iPad Pro can achieve 120 Hertz, while the MacBook Pro is still locked at 60. Other things you get with the iPad Pro is that actually has faced ID, which is a lot faster compared to touch ID found on the Mac and the iPad Pro is also the only one that is able to be purchased with a cellular connection. Apple MacBooks. Don't have that option, so you either have to use a mobile hotspot or find the nearest coffee shop.

If you want to connect to internet whenever you're working on the go, the iPad Pro is also the only one that actually has a very capable camera. Just like what you would find on your typical modern-day smartphone, which means you could take all kinds of photos as well as shoot, video and not just wide view, but also ultra-wide, so I can't shoot 4k at 60fps, which that is impossible to do on a MacBook and then, when it comes to making comprehend skulls, the image quality is obviously better on the iPad. Here's how that looks like- and this is the video quality. If you ever answer a conference call using a MacBook. This is the resolution.

Unfortunately, it's stuck at 720p, but I guess this is kind of cool, but the iPad also has this I'll talk about it a little, but there's a new market from large, which means this microphone has been improved. It's now like studio quality, but it's not excel our studio quality. No! That's for sure, and here we are with the front-facing camera on the new iPad Pro it's able to shoot 4k at 60fps according to the settings. Now it is a 7 megapixel camera. So it's able to do the same thing.

What like the latest generation iPhones, all cameras can shoot at 4k at 60fps, probably thanks to the new processor and also the microphone is on. So it's also doing the same studio-quality mark from that Apple is marketing this, but again it's not going to replace like a studio-grade SLR might but nice improvement, and when you combo the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, you unlock some really useful nifty features. The pencil does not only support pressure points for when drawing or signing autographs. So it's going to give you a more paper like realistic effect, but what's the Apple Pencil and the iPad Pro, if you have a MacBook Pro lying around may be an older model, but also run in the latest version of macOS. You combine the two and technically use the Apple Pencil on your MacBook that way or any other Apple computer and finally was iPadOS again.

This gave this tablet a lot of PC like features like multitasking and the ability to change fonts when you're typing there's a lot of very useful and helpful apps to be easily downloaded and located safely on the Apple Store on the iPad. Either for games or productivity use and as we saw these processors more than capable to handle any task, you throw at it. So my final verdict was his iPad Pro. This tablet is like no other tablet available in today's market because it technically it is true, it does perform better than most modern laptops. So that is the definition to apples marketing, but the important part, it's clear that its main target audience is his mostly students as its budget-friendly for school work, but can still perform an act just like a computer, it's more portable and very capable, as it still can, allow its users to be creative in creating art, taking notes or even can be used for video production and when you're not using the iPad to study.

If you just sit back, relax and play some of your favorite Netflix series, or you could connect a to an actual gaming controller and play some popular title games and don't forget, it also has the new light art center in the back, which I'm sure will come in handy in the future. But as of right now, I think this hardware is a little too early, which was most likely Apple's purpose to make this iPad be future-proof. Other users that might benefit off from the iPad Pro over a MacBook Pro are those who just need a simple machine to just surf. The web movies reply to emails, make essays, run vlogs that sort of stuff, but for rain programs like codecs, Visual, Studio code or other full desktop apps, then, yes, obviously, the MacBook Pro is the right choice for you, but to the right user. Once again, the iPad Pro it's technically a perfect all-in-one guy check out this video over here as I.

Pretty much cover everything you need to know on why you want to get the Apple Pencil if you decide to actually go with an iPad Pro and then that video over here, that is the video to YouTube things that you will like to go ahead and give either or a watch. But thank you guys so much for watching and take care, and I'll catch you all in the next one see ya.
