ZTE Axon 10 Pro Unboxing and First Impressions: Great Value in 2020!

Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey, so I'm back with another unboxing and first impressions and this time it's the ZTE axon 10 pro a lot of you probably haven't heard about this phone and that's totally okay, because this is not a phone that appeals to the mass market, and it's not really something you're going to walk into a store and find. If you know a little about the ZTE backstory they're a Chinese company, they had some issues a couple of years ago, and you know the US decided that we don't really want them selling phones in our country, and then they went through all the hoops they needed to, and now they can sell them again. So that's cool and all- and I totally love the axon 7 that came out several years ago. So I was really happy when this finally came out long story short, it's got some great specs. It's got. A brilliant ammo LED display three cameras on the back, and you can pick it up for MSRP about 550 bucks.

I got this one on sale, because b h photo had it on sale. Last week I got it for 3.39, it's still on sale, not quite that cheap, but anyway, before I keep running my mouth too much as I always do, I do want to say: if you, this is your first time stopping by the channel. I appreciate you being here if you enjoy the video please hit the like and the subscribe button and the little notification bell. If you want updates when new videos come out now, let's unbox the ZTE axon 10 pro all right here, we are with the ZTE axon 10 pro like I was saying before I had the ZTE axon 7 before several years ago, and I totally loved it, and then they had some of their regulatory issues. I guess and didn't get to make a phone here in the US for a while.

So I was happy for them to bring this back out and let's go ahead and use the handy, dandy, unboxing tool to get this open, so we can take it out of the box and look at it. I was looking around online and I believe it only comes in this blue color. I didn't see any other color options available, but it is 550 MSRP if you get the 256 gig and 12 gig ram storage model, which is what I have, and then they also have the eight bran eight gig ram, 120 gigabyte storage model, which is a little cheaper. The box itself looks nice, you got the big 10 on the outside and presentation seems to be pretty well on point: let's go ahead and open this up and get a look at the phone which is right here if I can get it out of the box all right. So there we go it's this beautiful blue color, which I'm not sure what the name is we'll just go with blue easy to unwrap.

It reminds me so far of the OnePlus 7 pro it has a kind of similar feel and weight to it, except I think it is a little lighter and slimmer, and certainly this mirror blue color and effect that it has on here looks really, really nice. You can see the cameras on the back here. It does have three cameras. It has the 48 megapixel primary shooter, and then you've got the wide angle and the telephoto zoom lens on there as well. So as a full complement of cameras on the phone, I was very, very impressed and surprised by that, because not every phone does that, and I was even more impressed because I got this phone for 339 dollars off of b h.

So I have zero complaints whatsoever. You have the volume buttons and the power button on the right hand, side there. You can see the antenna bands on top with the microphone hole as well. It has a pretty decent curved edge display it's not too aggressive. It's nice and rounded off USB charging on the bottom with the speaker does have stereo speakers, which is nice 24 bit audio.

If you plug in the headphone jack with the dongle, that's included in the box and yeah, I think it's a pretty sharp looking phone and so far I have absolutely zero complaints for the 300 price tags I paid for it getting into the rest of the box. Here. Of course, we have the documentation. We have the sim removal tool. All the stuff that mostly you're, probably not going to use or read so go ahead and get rid of this real, quick, no, more paperwork, and it comes with a case.

I was really, really happy with that. I did not know that this phone would come with the case and, let's see here, go and put it on the phone. It fits nice and snug on there so easy-peasy, and it has a little of a frosted appearance to it, not a frosted touch, but you can tell that it's not entirely like super clear looking, which is fine. I think it gives it a nice appearance. Then we have the charger, that's in here as well, which is up to there's a three volts, nine amps or whatever it is.

It's uh one of the superfast chargers. It's not like an elite warp charger like 45 watts or anything like one OnePlus, but um yeah. This will get you recharged, quick fast and in a hurry the phone itself is capable of quick charge, 4.0, which is very surprising uh. I did not think it was going to be capable doing that and then in here we have the power, cable and the earbuds, it's an USB-C USB, and then it's funny because the earbuds look very much like AirPods, so I guess that's kind of the look they were going to, and they look just like them except they're. They look like AirPods there they're the wired version here and that'll, pretty much do it for the unboxing portion, let's go ahead and take a look at the phone all right.

So here we are with the ZTE axon 10 pro I've actually really been enjoying using this phone. I made a tweet the other day saying that hey snapdragon 865's are nice, but the 855 is still perfect. It has a lot of power left in it, especially if you look at phones like the s10 and the note 10. This is the exact same processor. However, I bought this.

It's got 12 gigabytes of ram. I paid 339 for it. You can still pick it up on b, h photo right now, the 12 gig for 3.99 and the 8 gig model. I want to say it's like 369, maybe like a 30 difference, however, totally worth it, and if you're looking for a good last year, flagship phone that has a lot of power that has a lot of camera capabilities, it has a beautiful AMOLED display. This right here is a really solid option.

These phones are really geared towards somebody who wants performance and value but low frills, but not too many expectations, because I got to tell you folks, it hasn't had an upgrade on its security or software since, like February, ZTE is not the best in the world when it comes to those things. However, I do like that. It came with the case, and this blue color is actually really, really nice too. I've totally been enjoying it. You can see.

It's got a serious camera array on the back there with the 48 megapixel camera primary shooter. You've got a telephoto. You've got a wide angle. Furthermore, you've got all three of them they're available, which is a lot better than a lot of phones. I mean I've got somewhere.

I've got my lg velvet here. It doesn't even have a telephoto lens so to be able to get a snapdragon 855 with an AMOLED display I'll be at 1080p, but I have to say the color saturation and contrast looks perfect on it and there's a lot of phones nowadays that aren't even using quad HD plus like the velvet or like the lg v60 or, if you're, trying to use the higher res the higher refresh rate on the s20 devices. You got to throttle down the 1080p anyway, so I don't really have a lot of heartburn. It does look really nice. It has everything that you could possibly want going for it.

Furthermore, it has this cool little animation that I like. Whenever you turn the screen on, let me go and unlock it, so it does that which is kind of cool. Every time you go back to the home screen, it's very lightly skinned. If at all, it's very zippy, which is nice, it's not like when you're using some of those like older Samsung phones, there's just so many animations or some of the older lg phones, there's just so many animations. The page flipping is slow, it gets choppy and bogged down in the weeds, very bare bones operating system.

I like that, a lot it does have facial recognition. So now you can see right there, it unlocks pretty quick and, in addition to facial recognition, it also has a built-in fingerprint sensor that works pretty well too, and I'll go ahead and show that you'll be able to see on the b-roll versus me talking, but facial recognition in screen fingerprint display AMOLED display. It's got stereo sound. It's got 24 bites DAC if you plug in the USB dongle to it, which comes in the box, so really happy about that.18 watt power delivery for charging. It also has quick charge 4.0. It has a 20 megapixel, front-facing selfie camera, which takes okay, selfies.

I've taken a couple pictures with it. So far, I'll have more about this in my full review, but just in the first impressions, it's not terrible, it's very dependent on light. So if you have good ideal lighting, then you can take good selfies and good regular photo shots. So if you're outdoors, if you've got perfect lighting, you're not going to have any problems with it whatsoever, it works out nicely uh. It doesn't have any fancy bells or whistles when it comes to like special buttons or special features or anything.

It has um USB charging on the bottom and yeah. Furthermore, it's just a nice overall phone, it's something that you can just buy, and it works really. Well, you don't have to worry about carrier financing. You have to worry about spending an arm and a leg to get a new phone because, let's face it, phones are kind of expensive, but it has a 4000mah battery. It does have voice over LTE, which you know if you've seen any of my videos lately is going to be a concern with at t and T-Mobile moving forward, because in january 2021 T-Mobile's cutting off phones that don't have voice over LTE support this one.

It shows it right up there on the antenna, and it's surprising, because I'm using my ATT, sim right now, which isn't supposed to give you voice over LTE unless it's in a phone that the carrier actually has so since they don't sell ZTE phones, but it says I'm getting voice over LTE, so hey I'll, take it, but anyway that's about it. So far. I like it. I like this case that it comes with it's so nice. When you get a phone that has a case in the box.

You don't have to worry about it. I do need to get a screen protector for it. It does have kind of a slightly curved edge display on it, which I mean I'm okay with. I don't it's kind of a rounded off angle: it's not aggressive, so it doesn't seem to help out the form factor too much when you're holding it, but you also don't really get the ghost touches like you do with those really aggressive edges more, unlike the note series or the velvet series phone, but overall for 339 bucks. I have been absolutely happy and impressed with my purchase, and you could even pick up the other one.

It was like 300, but now, like I said, the prices are more regular. MSRP is in the 500s, but if you go to b h photo I'll have the link in the drop-down you can check out there. It's not an affiliate link. I don't get any extra money for if you click on it, but yeah if you can get one for under 400 bucks. It's its a good pickup.

Just remember who knows when we're going to see another security update, if at all, and I'm very sure it probably won't get android 11, but it started on android nine. They did give android 10 and android.10 works really well on here. It's good for gaming. It's good for pretty much whatever you want. Just don't expect no quad HD, no 90 or 120 hertz refresh rate, and I don't think it has an IP certification from what I could find, but it does have wireless charging.

So that's a win right there as well. Now, that's all I've got on my unboxing and first impressions of the ATX ZTE axon 10 pro yeah that one. So that's all I got if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them down in the comment section I'll get back with you, like, I said in the beginning, if you enjoyed the video, please hit the like and the subscribe button and the little notification bell if you want updates when new videos come out. As always, I appreciate you being here. Thank you for watching, and I'll see you guys next time.
