OnePlus 9 Vs Samsung Galaxy S21! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone, let's go ahead and talk about none other than a comparison between the OnePlus 9 and the Samsung Galaxy s21. Now both these phones are great phones. They are roughly around the same price. I think the s21 is more expensive in the used market, but it's cheaper in the notes cheaper in the used market more expensive in the new market. So if you want to pick up either, one of these links will be down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel. At the same time now side by side, you can definitely see that the OnePlus 9 is the bigger phone.

Ultimately, I think the panel on the Samsung Galaxy s21, though, is still a perfect size in the hand. One doesn't necessarily feel way bigger than the other one. I think the OnePlus 9 feels wider, but it doesn't necessarily feel any much more longer. To be honest. Now you do have whole plus displays on both the OnePlus 9's on the top left.

The s21 is on the obviously top center. I don't really have a preference. They look about the same. I think the bigger difference, though the similarity between them is they're, both full HD panels, so both 1080p, but the other thing they're, both 120 hertz. So that's a really awesome thing.

I really don't see one panel being way better than the other one. Last year I pretty much said the s20 had a better pound than OnePlus 8. This time I don't know, I think the Samsung Galaxy s21 and the OnePlus 9's panels are roughly around the same. One doesn't really feel or look that much better. In my opinion, on the bottom, USB type-c ports on bot hip certification on both phones too, which is great in terms of the thinness and thickness between them kind of the same thing too.

There's not really one phone that feels way thicker. Maybe the OnePlus 9 is a little thicker, but they feel roughly about the same on the back, though this is another massive difference. We have a glass back on the OnePlus 9 with the s21. We have a plastic bag. It is frosted, though it's a frosted plastic which still feels kind of good, but it's plastic.

You know the OnePlus 9 definitely feels more premium, which is something I'm surprised about. Typically, the s phones of that year are the more premium ones not this year. It's very, very weird here for sure, and up top we have triple camera setups on both, but the OnePlus 9 just isn't as good as s21 I'll just bring it to you like that. I will talk about it more so in a second, but that pretty much covers up the outside. You know it's pretty much more of what we expected.

All these phones are feeling more and more similar every single year and between these two, I'm surprised by how well of a phone OnePlus did compare to the base Samsung Galaxy s 21 of that year. So that was something that really threw me off. I wasn't expecting the OnePlus phones of this year to be, I guess, better feeling than the base s21 now another big thing, and I think the only no, I won't say the only, but one of the major reasons why I would go from a Samsung Galaxy s, 21 to a one plus nine hands down would have to be the software. I like one UI, you know, I don't hate it. It's just not my favorite compared to any other version of android.

This one has a pretty decent version of software. You know you can always throw a custom launcher on it and get a better experience. But again it's like Samsung just needs to work on some more stock, android versions, and I think they would have a killer device. You know I think they're kind of letting us down in the hardware in terms of the feeling in the hand of the plastic back, I think if they just put you know, software that'd be amazing. However, on the OnePlus 9, this is a crazy good version of software oxygen OS, as I mentioned year after year.

I don't know why people more people don't like the software. This is hands down, one of the best versions of software on android and forever. I don't know why I click clear all this is stock android with more features, and that is hands down. One of my favorite things just having that capability of just having this type of stock android is amazing. Now it's not perfect.

There's obviously problems all over the place. Just like I want UI, but I do think at the end of the day. This is a very solid version of software and I think this software is better than the one UI for sure. There's also a little of a difference in the battery sizes. I feel like you're getting better battery life from the OnePlus of this year, the Samsung of this year, but the big difference is that you do have reverse wireless charging on the Samsung Galaxy s21.

So that's a pretty cool feature. You know you have that capability on this device, but you don't have it on this device. I guess you have standard wireless charging, but you don't have reverse wireless charging, but the Samsung Galaxy s21 actually has that which is really cool. So that's pretty much. The main reason why I would go and upgrade my opinion.

So in terms of that that pretty much covers it up there. Now, let's go into a speed comparison between both these phones. Both these phones have the Qualcomm snapdragon 888 chipsets inside them, and they both have eight guys of ram for the base models that I have, but you can spec out the one plus nine to have 12 gigs of ram, but these both these models have eight gigs of ram each. So in terms of that, let's go and do speed comparison. Okay, now that we're back all the apps are cleared out in the background, as you guys can see, except for these, let's clear out of those let's get into it.

Let's do phone calls three two one, and I don't know if one was faster than the other one in terms of animation speeds. I think the OnePlus 9 seems to be a little smoother messages. Three two one and about the same thing too chrome three, two one and roughly about the same thing: let's do cameras three two one and about the same thing too. There wasn't really that ginormous of a difference play stores three two one and about the same thing scrolling through you guys can see that I think one plus nine looked a little smoother there is it just me: you can see the galaxy. S21 is a little glitchy right scrolling up, you can see it is actually smoother overall.

Only one plus nine, that's actually very surprising to me. I wasn't expecting that. As always, I have a bunch of these third party apps. Let's go to snake versus blocks three two one, and I think the s21 was just a split second faster. It was very close, but maybe it was just like a hair faster, really not that much gameplay-wise is going to be roughly around the same.

It's a pretty basic game, let's use stack, which I don't think I have. Let's do temple run two three two one, and it does look like the one plus nine is just slightly faster. The s21 is just a little behind here and the OnePlus 9 got into it. The temple run 2 on the s21 was slightly less fast, which is okay. It's not really that big of a deal gameplay wise.

You can see they're going to be roughly around the same. There's not going to be that big of a difference. It does glitch up, though, a little there hopping out of this one. Let's go and do fruit ninja three, two one and the one plus nine is the faster one. The s21 looks like it was stuck there a little, I'm not really to sure what happened there, but definitely one plus nine was a faster one.

At that point hopping out of this one, let's do Quizlet three two one s21 definitely was faster there of a three two one and really tough. I don't really know you guys could probably see over the camera which one's faster twitter three two, and I screwed that one up hopping out of this one. I think that's pretty much all the similar apps that I have between these two, that's very surprising. We can do Facebook. Three two one which I think already done.

You can see pretty much the same thing there too, and I think that really pretty much covers up a majority of the apps that I wanted to test. I mean I'm actually pretty surprised by how well the OnePlus 9 was able to you know kind of overdo the Samsung Galaxy s21, and they have the same chipsets have the same amount of ram. I think the main thing that we're seeing here is the software. The software on the OnePlus 9 is, I think, more optimized than the hardware or the software on the Samsung Galaxy s21, and you can see. Chrome was able to be still able to be up on the OnePlus 9, let's go into camera, and I think they both kind of restarted there hopping out of both of these.

Let's go into play store, so the s21 kind of glitched up a little and the OnePlus 9 fully restarted. So it does look like the ram management is roughly around the same, there's not a big difference, but I think the performance may have just been a little faster and smoother on something like the OnePlus 9, so in terms of speed and performance that pretty much covers it up, let's go and quickly hit on the cameras. Now on the back, like I mentioned, triple camera setup on both, but definitely the galaxy s21 is better here. The OnePlus 9 has a wide ultra-wide and depth lens where the Samsung Galaxy s21 has the wide ultrawide and telephoto lens now for sure. I think the Samsung Galaxy s21 camera is better not only for the back but the front as well.

You have a very solid lens capability on something like the galaxy s21 and I want you to see how smooth it is to kind of you know, zoom in and out on this type of camera. Another thing: if I'm going to go ahead and bring this type of thing in you can see it's a little glitchy for sure. If I go and take a photo of it, I can definitely tell you this type of camera, I think, is a very solid camera. It has a lot of definition, has a lot of capability, and you're getting that additional telephoto lens. The OnePlus 9, unfortunately only has the ultrawide sensor, but it does have this other like lens, which you're always going to use like it's, not really that capable of a camera, but you do have 8k capability on both phones, but the galaxy s21 has 4k 60 on the front, which I think is a massive capability.

This phone's camera keeps getting better and better over year after year, and it's definitely better than the know, one plus nine, with this type of camera. I think it's good too. One thing that I saw, as I mentioned before, is the zooming in and zooming out. You can see it's definitely not as smooth or as seamless as something like the galaxy, s21 or really any other phone that I've tested, so one plus is really going to have to push out an update sooner than later. If I actually go ahead and address this and fix this, because I think it's a pretty big issue, you have 8k capability on the back of this lens, but only 1080p at 30 on the front, as I mentioned before, that's kind of a little of an issue taking a photo, though, as you guys can see it's going to give you roughly around the same type of experience.

I think this type of camera is good. You know they spent a lot of money on this camera. They spent a lot of time developing this camera, but it still doesn't tap out as something like the galaxy s21 and I feel like the galaxy s21 it's better overall than the auction OS UI on here. I feel like this is like a starter or like a tester. Software doesn't feel like the real software.

To be honest, so, hopefully OnePlus can fix this, but I think the camera is good. The s21 is definitely better, though so to kind of sum up. This video answer the question: should you go and buy an OnePlus 9, or should you buy a Samsung Galaxy s21? Well, this is pretty much what I'll tell you. I think if I have to pick one device over the other one, I would probably end up picking a Samsung. I would probably pick up the OnePlus 9.

To be honest, I think the OnePlus 9 is the overall better phone for me. I, like the software on the one on the OnePlus 9, and I feel like it is a pretty much faster, smoother phone overall, but I don't know like I feel like the galaxy s21 is also a killer phone you're. Getting, I think, more features from something like a s21 you're, getting a better camera both on the front and the back, but you're. Also getting you know the reverse wireless charging and those are some really important things that this type of phone has with the OnePlus 9. I still think it has a lot of capability for sure I mean it's not going anywhere anytime soon, and I do like the software on this thing.

It's definitely not perfect, though there were some issues, as I mentioned before, you know you had things that were like no 4k 60 on the front. No reverse wireless charging. You know things like that, but I think overall, when, if I had to pick up one, I think I'd rather pick up the OnePlus 9 here, but the Samsung Galaxy s.21 is still a killer phone. The resale value of both these are going to go down like crazy, so it doesn't really matter which one you pick up, but if I had to pick up one as I mentioned, I think I would rather pick up a one plus nine. I think the nine pros and the s21 ultras are also perfect phones.

I think the s21 ultra is overall the best phone, but I don't know guys, like you tell me, which one would you rather pick up? Furthermore, I mean, as I mentioned, you can get either.
