OnePlus 8 Vs Samsung Galaxy S20! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone, we're gonna, be doing another comparison. This time around between you guessed it. The 1 plus 8 the standard base model against the Samsung Galaxy S 20. Now you might be thinking Oh, though you know, the 1 plus 8 is so much cheaper, and it's the better value per dollar, because it could do everything to you. Samsung, Galaxy, S, 20 camp rises. Really, that's not completely the case because, yes, brand new, we know I did spend way more money on this than this.

This will cost me like a little less than 800, actually no over 800 because. This is like that top tier model, which was annoying the Samsung Galaxy S 20, cost about a little over a thousand dollars to pick up. But the thing to keep in mind, though, is that what the Samsung Galaxy S 20 it does not cost that thousand dollars anymore. I've. Seen a lot of these go on Amazon for way less.

You can actually pick one up for less than $100 on Amazon, so I'll leave both of these linked down in the description below, so you can counter from there and help support the channel at the same time, but just know that brand-new yeah, that has 20 is a little more expensive, but on the Amazon they're a little cheaper, actually they're almost the same price on Amazon when it comes down to it. So, looking on the front, you can automatically see that there are some key differences. They both have hole. Punch displays with the S 20s is in the center thing.1 plus 8 is on the top left and filling both in the hand. You can kind of tell you in side by side.

The 1 plus 8 is definitely bigger than the S 20. By quite a bit, I would say the e 1 plus 8 is more like yes, 20 Plus Size more than the S 20, but they both don't feel like gigantic phones in the hand. Yes, 20 does feel a bit smaller though, but looking on the front, I'll go ahead and start with yes 20, because it's the older one kind of you have a 6.2 inches in dynamic AMOLED display on the S 20, and it is a very, very good display. It's honestly, one of the best displays I've ever messed with. What's really cool about it, you have very little bezel around the whole entire display, it's 42, 40, P, perfect and, like I, said a man.

The best thing about the screen would probably be the 120 Hertz, refresh rate that you have on this display. Now you only have 90 Hertz on the one plus a which I get in a second, but that 120 Hertz were really as just as an extra layer of just smoothness on top of the phone, which is honestly one of my favorite things ever it's not it's nothing like you're going to go change your life over. It doesn't really add any functionality, but you use your phone so much every day, and you know you deserve the best and by having the 120 Hertz refresh rate, it really adds down much more smooth on the display, which is extremely nice. I, have a lot of respect for this type of panel and think it's really bright. It looks perfect.

There's really nothing to hate on it. So definitely my opinion. The Samsung Galaxy S 20 has a very, very good panel. Anyone puts it. On the other hand, we have a six point.

Five inch 1080p panel is fluid AMOLED and between both of em being honest, I could not tell you which one was 1444 TP and which and which one was 1080p I mean. This panel looks really, really good for a 1080p panel and as I say before, OnePlus makes really, really good 1080p panels, and this one is no exception. I think it looks perfect, like I said that you had the bunch display up top and a very little bezel around the whole entire phone too. Now, like I stated, you have 120 Hertz on the s20, but you have 90 Hertz on the one plus eight, which is pretty good. I'll.

Give you a quick example like I would rather have to jump from going from 60, Hertz and 90 Hertz I think is bigger than going from 90 to 120. You know, 120 is probably the best, but still 90 is pretty decent too. You know I'm surprised, I'm, saying pretty decent when just last year they want +7. Pro came out with many Hertz on the old LED, and that was a pretty big deal, but any Hertz is still perfect. So when it comes under the boat, displace I mean I would probably end up picking yes, twenties display, but I still think the aid has a pretty good display overall, so that pretty much covers it up in the front.

Both have USB type-c ports on the bottom and on the back triple camera setups, which I'll get into in a second go aspects on both that wireless charging, the s20 does have reverse wireless charging with the 8 does not. The pro has reverse wireless charging, but this one does not, but it's still pretty good for the most part, glass backs and wells like I stated now. Another cool thing with the s20 is that you do actually have a micro SD card slot, which is extremely cool. You do not have anything like that, or any expandable storage. Only one plus series I, don't think they've ever had it on the s20.

You do have that, which is an extremely cool thing and so for sure, I'll probably tell you, the s20 I think is just a better build quality and the better feeling phone. Overall. Now some of you might like the matte texture, that's on the 1+8, but between me, I mean I, really don't care that much so in terms of the outside. That really pretty much covers it now. One advantage that t1, plus eight might actually have over the s20 would definitely be T's.

Software I personally think that oxygen OS is way better than when you why I mean if you look at them. This is pretty much almost stocky and with a couple more features. This is like some like weird I, don't know what they're doing when you combine when you look at them side-by-side I definitely do like stock Android way more, and I believe oxygen. Os is way more than way better than stock Android, so I would definitely tell you between both oxygen. Os is definitely better when it comes down to the life support of both these phones, you might actually end up getting longer life cycle, support from an OnePlus phone and then on the Galaxy S series device.

So if you pick up these phones now, you might end up getting along software support on the u1 plus eight but another thing to keep in mind, and this is actually very, very important when you look at both phones, the custom Ramming and all that stuff I think you have a higher likelihood of custom ROM on your phone and getting custom ROMs and all that on it, one plus eight phone over in s2000s, when you can't really custom ROM. Unless you have Enos version and even then it's like really hard to root your phone and all that's a long process on the one plus eight, you don't necessarily have those issues which is an extremely cool thing. So definitely when it comes down to the software I think t1 plus eight probably ends up winning there. So in terms of that that pretty much covers it now, we'll do a little of a speed test right now, but I'll go and see the specs first I will probably end up doing a full, in-depth speed test later on. But this is just like a quick one.

That kind of cover my basis. The Samsung Galaxy S 20 has a clock on Snapdragon he's 65 chipset and outscore CPU and Arena 650 GPU and eight gigs of RAM there's only one model, whether you want plus eight has you Qualcomm snapdragon 65 chipsets, an outscore CPU and Arena 650 GPU and the eight guys are RAM on that base model with 12 gigs of RAM. On that talk to your model and when this model I think I do have the 12 gave option, but it really doesn't matter I'm, not testing the room right now. So that being said, I'll let's go and see which one is the best run between both of these okay. So let me go and clear all the apps in the background, see what's all good okay, I haven't these third-party apps download.

Also, I'll go through them. Let's do Facebook three two one I think the OnePlus a way actually faster there. That threw me off a little through ninja three two one and these phones wobble. So much when I click on them. It's so obnoxious, as you can see, you're gonna naturally hear them.

I'm. Sorry, you guys had to go through that Temple Run, 2, 3, 2 1, it's looking like I, have to turn the volume down and guys I'm. So sorry, there we go much better, so I wasn't able to see which one's faster, because I was turning down the volume, and I'm sure you guys are happy that I turn down the volume to be honest, Cross Road, 3, 2 1. Now we might have to input some information on both of these on this one. I do on that.

One I didn't, so we'll just leave that one is inconclusive. Mr. Graham 3, 2, 1, okay, very interesting, Shape verse blocks 3 2 1. They both were almost identical when it came down to it. Let's go and play a game and yeah they're both about the same when it comes down to it.

Sample run the original one. Three two ones. Now it was on a game here, so I will have to restart it. He'll run again three two one you and that one pretty much covers that one ISU's Netflix three to one: okay: let's go into Quizlet three two paper ahead: 2/3, don't Hammett I'll, send it off with Real Racing 3 3 2, and they both want different segments of the game, but they both were really close and honestly, in my opinion, they are kind of like flippy-floppy. Sometimes though a toughie, sometimes the 1+8 is faster.

Sometimes the Samsung Galaxy S 20 is faster. It's a really tough decision here that I don't really find a one being you know continuously faster than the other one. So I can tell you in terms of the speed. I, wouldn't necessarily get one phone over the other just based off the performance. I think both phones are perfect, performing phones, but I, don't think one is like way better than the other one.

If that makes any sense, so I'll go and hit on these cameras. Now I will do a separate camera test to full on one as well, but I'll briefly hand on them in this video, as I always say, they both have triple camera setups. On the back, which is really cool, the galaxy s, 20 has a single 12, megapixel camera at 64, megapixel, telephoto lens and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide sensor with u1 plus eight has a 48, megapixel wide-angle lens a 16, megapixel, ultralight sensor. Then a 2 megapixel macro lens. Now, honestly, between both I mean the galaxy s.20 is the way better camera sensor my opinion. The quality is better.

The video quality is better, but the fascinating thing is that you can do 4k 60 on both phones, which is cool, but the galaxy s.20 has the capability of shooting 8k videos, which is insane and I. Don't think anybody's going to you know film that high I, don't really I, just think it's kind of worthless, but it is super, super cool to still do it in the future. That could be the norm, so you could have a future-proof phone which would be really, really cool. So that's an awesome feature that you have on yes xx so for sure for the back cameras, yes, 20 wins and even on the front camera. You know you have single camera setups on both a 16 megapixel camera, e1, plus 8, and a 10 megapixel camera on the galaxy s 20 between both you can even do 4k 60 on that front camera.

Yes, 20 you can where you can only do 1080p on that front camera only one plus 8. So definitely when it comes out of the camera, the s20 for sure wins now ending it off for the battery life, the Samsung Galaxy s, 20 has a 4000 million by hour battery, where the 1+8 has a four thousand three hundred million power battery, and I'll probably end up signing with you, one plus eight having the better battery life, even though the bit has a bigger screen, and all that you still have. You know 120 Hertz here and a smaller battery, where you have 1080p display here and a bigger battery so for sure I'll, probably end up signing with u1 plus 8 and when it comes down to a dude, I'll, be honest. I think I would probably pick up a Samsung Galaxy S 20 over the 1+8, even though the s20 software is a little weird. I.

Think the features that you're gaining as well as the better camera, the reverse wireless charging, the better screen and all that stuff I'll, probably end up signing with the Samsung Galaxy S 20, already one plus eight, but I think you want plus eight is still pretty close behind. If this is a ten out of ten, this phone is probably like a nine out of ten or a nine and a half out of ten. It can pretty much do everything. This phone can do, there's just a couple of things that are just a little different, so that really pretty much covers it.
