Lenovo Legion vs Asus Rog Phone 3 Camera Test

Hi, it's john from android Alex and welcome to this camera test for the Lenovo legion phone versus the ASUS ROG phone 3. So, first up we're going to go through some photos and that's followed by some night photos as well, and then we're going to go through some videos, including the wide-angle lens and some video shot at night and just compare them side by side and see which one you think is best. So let me know down below which of these phones, you think, won the test and give your reasons why I've got my own personal opinion. So it'll be interesting to know what you guys think I've put some time codes in the description as well, so that should help you skip through to the various sections that interest you don't forget to subscribe to the channel as I'll be doing some more videos with these two phones and if you enjoyed this video click the like button- and I will see you at the end of the video. My so me take me away from home- show me all the places I've never known erase all of this hello, foreign hi. It's john from android Alex, and today we're doing a camera comparison test between the vlog phone 3 and the legion phone, so these are both using a 64 megapixel sensor, slightly different f ratings on both of them, but it'll be interesting to see exactly how these compare for these two gaming phones.

Actually, the legion phone comes in a bit cheaper, but the ASUS phone is obviously a more recognized brand, and I'm guessing potentially a more expensive sensor inside because of the price difference. So we just want to compare the microphone input, see how the sound cancellation is, or noise cancellation and just see exactly which of these phones is the best for video recording. So this is a 4k video 30 frames per second, that's the maximum that the legion phone can actually do. But when it comes to the ASUS ROG 3, it can go as high as 8k 30 frames per second. I've set it to 4k 30 frames per second just so we can do a direct comparison between the two and obviously, what I'll be doing is swapping the sound between each of the phones.

So we can see exactly how sensitive the mics are, what they can pick up or what they don't pick up now. They both have image stabilization, which is enabled on both. So hopefully I don't have a proper gyro whilst doing this recording test so really test out the quality of the phones built in gyros. Now, from what I can see on the screens, the quality looks pretty much the same on both. Obviously when we get on the big screen, we'll actually go to tell exactly how good they are.

So, okay, we're just doing a horizontal test here. So we get a full screen of both videos see what they're like again. This is still 44 at 30 frames per second there's a nice gentle breeze today, so hopefully that's being canceled out nicely by the ambient mics, so wow, okay, so I've switched to the ultrawide lens on both cameras, we're still recording at 4k 30 frames per second now. The difference is here that the ASUS ROG phone has a 13 megapixel ultrawide lens. Whilst the Lenovo legion phone has a 16, megapixel drive lens so interesting to see whether there's any major differences between the two, certainly looking at that flower there, the legion looks a lot redder than the ASUS and in with my real-life eyes, it certainly was redder than it looked on the mug phone, the rock phone's, picking up quite pink, but the Lenovo is definitely replicating those colors better on the phone screen itself, at least.

Obviously, the proof will be in the final test when we get on the computer again. The colors are more realistic, looking currently on the legion phone, but we'll just have a quick walk around see how they, both okay, and now we're in ultra-wide landscape mode, still at 4k 30 frames per second okay. Here we are with the front facing camera test. Now the ASUS ROG phone 3 has a 24 megapixel front facing camera. Whilst the legion phone has a 20 megapixel front facing camera again, slightly f ratings on both of these, the ASUS is capable of doing full HD at 60 frames per second, whereas the Lenovo legion is only capable of 1080p and 30 frames per second.

So I can see straight away on the ROG phone. It is a much wider angle lens than the legion. I don't have to hold my arm quite as far away to get a full shot, but uh yeah, that's quality. The legion just say it has front stabilization, that's going to be probably digital. Well, it is digital.

I found out in my last test, so we can just have a quick walk around comparing the mics okay, we're just gonna. Do a quick night video test, there's no night mode, video selection for these phones, but its nighttime, and I'm recording some video. So far, I've been taking some photos and the rock phone certainly looks better at night photos than the legion, but I'll find out for sure as per usual once we get onto the computer. It almost looks like to me that the rock phone stabilization has disappeared in night mode. I'm not sure whether that's a feature, but it certainly looks a bit jerky on the video.

This is 4k 30 frames per second still. So what do you think of these two phones when it comes to their cameras? It certainly looks to me like the legion does produce some nicer colors. Sometimes the rock phone seems to have better dynamic range in sunnier conditions. Video wise, the stabilization seems a bit better on the rock, and also the noise cancellation on the rug seems better, but the sound on the legion does actually sound better to me. It sounds clearer and not so muffled, so there's pros and cons to each phone.

Let me know what you think down below in the comments. If you haven't already checked out the speed test, video I've done have a look at that I'll, put a link down below and in the top right corner.
