iPhone 12 Vs iPhone XR Camera Comparison - Any Major Difference?

Hi guys this is transit and in this video we'll be doing the camera comparison between the iPhone 10r and the new iPhone 12, because quite a few of you have been asking me: is the iPhone 12, a good upgrade? If you already have the iPhone 10r, and I told you guys I'll- have to check the cameras because uh there are a lot of claims that the camera on the new iPhone 12 series is a huge improvement. So what I have done is I have taken a lot of camera samples side by side, because if you only do that, then we know the difference, because if you just recall a day ago, I had posted a camera comparison review between the Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe versus the OnePlus 8t, and only when I put the camera sample side by side. We saw the difference of the camera, so we'll be doing that and guys. I also took some sample shots uh with some human subjects, uh with the rear facing camera of even the full two uh, and also add that, because I noticed some in some pictures outdoors that I took with both these iPhones were not coming great, so I also took with that one but again in terms of specs, as you can see, the new iPhone 12 uh has that ultra-wide lens, which the iPhone 10r does not have rest, is the same. Both have a main that is a 12 megapixel and even the front facing camera is actually 12 megapixels and also in the four guys up uh the rear cameras are all 12 megapixel, whereas front is 10 megapixels. So here are the samples side by side so that you can judge the difference yourself.

So here are the pictures side by side, and I did not notice any difference initially, but when I zoom in yes, the dynamic range is certainly better on the iPhone 12. Again. The iPhone 12 has the wide angle lens. So we have this in this picture. The iPhone 10 are slightly more saturated and again on this one again, I like the picture with the 10r, and here I simply could not find a difference between both the devices and the same case for us even for this one.

Here initially, I could not spot any difference, but here I felt where the arrows there, the iPhone 12, has slightly better dynamic range. This was taken midday and in this shot I could not find any difference here. Also, it looks the same, but the both is slightly better on the iPhone 12. Here again, I could not find any difference even in the shot here. Also, I couldn't find any noticeable difference here.

I noticed that the sky is slightly bluer on the iPhone 12 again. The iPhone 12 has that wide angle lens. So this is with that one and again and again, this is a difficult shot and both of them actually did almost the same, except the sky is slightly bluer on the iPhone 12. I mean this shot. I could not find any difference now moving to semi-indoor conditions.

Again, these shots are also very similar, which was surprising now moving to artificial lighting in my office. I just noticed that the iPhone 12 has slightly better background blur, but again in this shot, as you can see, both of them are almost identical to each other. In this one, I felt the iPhone 12 has slight more sharpness now moving to human subjects. Again, these are very similar, but the thing I noticed is that the faces are a lot darker and also a lot reddish in both these smartphones. So I decided to also use my full two and in this shot I would say the full two produced better skin tones, as you can see, compared to the iPhone 12 and even the 10r.

Now this was in the portrait pokey mode, and I had to move closer with the tenor, otherwise not getting that both effect again. One more sample with the iPhone 10 and the 10 are very similar results. I have to say- and I just included the fold and I definitely feel that fold is doing better in terms of skin tones. This was with the portrait, poke k mode, enabled another regular shot with all the three and you guys, let me know which one do you feel is better now moving to the front facing camera in outdoor conditions and in this again both of them are almost the same. I also brought the fold too, and I feel the photo has that artificial skin smoothening.

One thing I don't like with these iPhones is that for Indian skin tones with the front-facing camera, it always produces very dark uh skin tones, as you can see with this one again with the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 10 are almost the same results that I'm noticing now moving to indoor artificial lighting conditions. Here again, both of them performed almost the same, but when I bring the fold to, I feel it had a slightly bluish tint, and also it was not that sharp, as you can see, compared to the iPhone. This was in dark lighting situation, and here all of them actually did a pretty good job. This was an extremely dark condition. The photo looks brighter, but again the picture is very soft, so I would give again the edge to the iPhones here.

Another pick and both look similar, but when I zoom in 200 percent, the iPhone 12 is certainly sharper, and this was in the portrait pokey mode now moving to the front facing camera, I just prefer the iPhone 12 compared to the 10r. As you can see, the iPhone 12 front facing camera is better than the 10r and guys I was surprised with the results of the camera. I thought that the camera performance will be huge difference between the 10r and the iPhone 12, but, as you saw with most of the samples, I was just looking to find uh. What do you say? Differences and many of the 90 of the shots that we shot uh the iPhone 10r and the iPhone 12 were almost identical, except yes, in some areas, the iPhone 12 had slightly better dynamic range and also slightly better both. But again I would say the performance of even the iPhone 10 hour was so good that if you're just going to upgrade it for the camera, then I don't see it as a huge upgrade.

Yes, we don't have the ultra-wide angle lens on the iPhone 10r, but if you are still happy with your camera performance of the iPhone 10r, I would say that the iPhone 12 is the must-have upgrade in terms of camera performance uh. But again I would say both of them perform very well. Yes, I would give the slight edge to the iPhone 12. I would say five to ten percent improvement in some shots. Not every shot, and surprising thing for me was that in outdoor conditions, the fold to produce better skin tones, at least for our Indian skin.

That was a big, surprising thing for me. But when we came indoor again the iPhones did better uh. So guys. What do you think about these kinds of real world camera performance? Comparison test? Do let me know, and if you guys want any other. What do you say this real world comparison? Camera comparison results? Do let me know in the comment section and uh I'll see if it's possible to do that, anyways guys if you're still not subscribed to the YouTube channel hit that subscribe button.

This is transit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guys.
