iPhone 12 Mini Vs iPhone XR CAMERA TEST! (Photo / Video Comparison)

Welcome back everyone time to do another camera comparison between two phones. That I think are pretty much similar and what's very interesting, is, is that apple is still selling both of these first, they're still going to be selling the iPhone 12 mini, but they're also still selling the iPhone 10r, which I think is a pretty awesome thing. You know, because the both these phones are very, very good. They have a lot of capability for sure when it comes down to it. I feel like, like I said before, both these phones are more similar than not now how this comparison works is. Basically I take these photos.

I autofocus all of them. I just let them take them. Furthermore, I take them back to back, so it's very little variables at play. It's not like I take these days or weeks later. These are taken pretty much within seconds to minutes within each other and for the remainder of this photo and video comparison, all the iPhone, 12 mini photos and videos will be on the right, the iPhone, 10 or will have all the left photos and videos.

So keep that in mind now, looking at this first photo, I took it outside and look how beautiful this photo is bro. I don't get enough credit for these comparisons, but dude. This is a beautiful photo immediately. I don't really notice too many differences, and the big thing to keep in mind is that we do have a dual camera set up with the 12 mini the iPhone 10 or as that single camera setup, and I don't really notice too many differences. Maybe the 12 mini photo looks a little too bright, but when you zoom in and that's when you start to see a majority of the differences now, first, if you look at this little stem thing, it does look like they both kind of focus at the same spot.

It looks like the same things are kind of. You know blurred off too, and look how beautiful this little water droplets already bro- I am I deserve like 30 likes on this- photo at least on Instagram or something. But if you look at this portion, I mean it looks like the iPhone 12 mini was a little more in focus, which is definitely good. You're getting more detail, looks like with the veins and everything with the iPhone 12 mini photo. If you look at these little stem things, I mean I kind of look at the iPhone 12 mini and kind of like how it's a little more red and a little brighter in a way and at the bottom I don't really see too many other crazy differences.

But if I was looking at just like here, I probably wouldn't notice too many differences. To be honest, I would think they're about the same photo and that's the thing with these outdoor photos. You don't really notice too many crazy differences, but with some of these indoor photos like these, you start to see a little more stuff going on now. I don't know why the ground looks so weird. I don't know what's going on with it, but you can see with the lights up in the top corner.

Furthermore, I think the iPhone 12 mini did a better job. At kind of you know, making the lights look a little better with the iPhone 10, or it looks a little more saturated in a way. I think that's the best way to put it with the leaves themselves. I don't know why the iPhone 12 video made it look like there's like some filter going on. Furthermore, I don't really like that at all.

The 10r does look a little crispier in a way, which is something I really do like. If you look at the leg at the back, the tripod like look: how much noise is emitting from the iPhone 10rs photo than on the iPhone 12 mini, so the 12 mini actually looks much smoother overall, and even if you look at the little, you know grass little leaflets right here. It does look better overall on the iPhone 12 mini now I don't know which specific leaflet- it is probably one of these, and you can see how much less graininess is going on here than the iPhone 12 mini for sure. Now. This next photo is also another indoor one, and it was pretty basic when there's nothing really too crazy going on with it.

But if you look at the stem of the curtain again, you can kind of see with this little rod thing that the iPhone 10 made this part look a little black. The iPhone 12 mini did a little of a better job at lightening the overall photo, which again is another huge asset. That's why I really like these iPhones. Sometimes they do that, and I think that's a perfect thing, and even with this next photo, I mean I immediately from the bird's eye view. I actually do kind of like the iPhone 10r photo, because the dark and the overall image again the iPhone 12 mini.

Does this thing where it randomly just brightens the image and adds this weird texture over it? I don't know if people like this, if I go ahead and zoom into the iPhone 10, or I zoom into this little portion and I zoom into this little portion on the iPhone 12 mini. Are you guys able to see one that really looks so much better? I mean maybe, with the 12 mini you're, getting a little more detail going on with this specific portion, but I still like the iPhone 10 or how would darken the image now, if we're going to compare like the noise in the photo and everything like there's, probably less noise on the iPhone 12 mini photo. As you can see, with the 10r, there seems to be a little more graininess going on, especially if you look at this little portion right here. If you look at the iPhone 12 mini, it looks a little more smooth, but I still think the overall coloring looks better on the iPhone or in this specific photo. Now this next photo is another horrible indoor lighting photo.

I mean this one was like horrible lighting, but again I thought that I would see more differences here, but I really haven't been, so maybe I'll just stop showing this, I'm really not seeing too many crazy differences, but they both look pretty good, so I'll give them the benefit of these specific situations. Now this photo, it may look a little weird, but these were taken of the sky, so I just took the photos of the sky. Just pretty much saw what would happen, and it's very interesting how both phones interpreted the sky color. Now there were clouds moving and stuff like that. So it's not as perfect as I wanted to be.

But again you can kind of see that you know if there's more of a whiteness going on and stuff that iPhone 12 mini again does a better job at overall increasing the brightness of the photo, which I think is a good thing you can see with the 10r. It looks a little more grainy in a way, and with that 12 mini it looks a little brighter. So that's something I really do like now. This next photo was another indoor photo and I didn't really see too many differences at first, but when you go ahead and zoom in if we go and zoom into this little portion right here again, you can kind of see, in my opinion, from the screen that I'm looking at there seems to be more of the edge detection on the iPhone 12 mini. I mean, even if you look at this little corner right here, it's going to be kind of a know a leap, but you can kind of see that if you look at these little lines right here, if you look at the same lines here, they both look pretty grainy when you zoom in this much, but look at how much better the iPhone 12 mini is you know at kind of edge, detecting and detecting what exactly is an edge and kind of smoothing that out with the 10 hour, you can see it definitely a lot more noise and a lot more grain going on there's going to be noise in any photo when you zoom in that much, but definitely you're able to kind of see it a little better between these two photos for sure now was one camera definitely far better, I'm not too sure.

Maybe one, maybe the iPhone 12 mini is better here, but I really don't think you're gonna notice, too many differences. I think it definitely just comes down to the know fact of these two photos now the next photo is also one of a Rubik's cube and again taking in pretty bad lighting with a light just shine to it. I try to take all these photos in different lighting conditions. Now funny enough, it looks like the 12 mini did a better job. I think at focusing here and adding more of a both effect.

If you go ahead and look right here on the iPhone 10r, it kind of looks like the 10 are focused in on that logo, which may or may not be where I wanted to focus it on. You know the camera has to do its best to detect it. The 12 mini looks like it blurred that specific Rubik's, cube logo out and focused on exactly where I was thinking. I wanted to focus on which was around the specific corner somewhere here, and it looks like the 12 minute did a better job there, but coloring wise. I mean they both look pretty good again, it's going to blur out a lot of this other photo.

Even if I look at this corner right here, let's see if there's a big difference, and I really don't think there's going to be- I mean again there's going to be more noise overall on the iPhone 10 or photo than on the iPhone 12 mini. What's perfect about these photos, is I control the light? So it's not a lighting condition here, because they're, both in the same lighting condition and look at the end right here. Look at this little corner. The iPhone 10 has so much noise going around this whole entire portion. Here you know what I mean with the iPhone 12 mini.

We really don't have that. I mean it looks so much smoother, so that is definitely for sure and that for the iPhone 12 mini that it does smooth out a lot more of these photos, which I actually do like now. This outdoor photo again is just one of this little brick wall and just look at how much better, I think the iPhone 12 mini did. If you go and zoom into this little portion right here again, autofocused it and the coloring. Look.

How much more detail you're getting on the iPhone 12 mini photo? I mean you're getting so much detail sounding funny on the 10r. It looks okay, but- and I, if you showed me one after the other, I probably wouldn't notice like a crazy amount of differences, but you're definitely getting a far better looking photo on something like the iPhone 12 mini and on the iPhone 10 are for 100 of the fact and again, like I said before, with these outdoor photos, you may not notice some media crazy differences, but there are some subtle differences like between these two for sure. That's another huge asset. Now this photo may look like a dumb photo or whatever, but this is night mode on both. Now I don't know if the iPhone 10 has that and what it may or may not.

I don't remember, but regardless this was photos taken in bad lighting and both these phones had to do their best to kind of increase. The brightness of the photos now look. How big of a difference there is between both I mean the iPhone x photo, honestly. Doesn't even look that bad. I was expecting it to do worse, but the 12 mini did such a better job at just the overall photo and lightening up that whole entire photo.

You know this camera looks so much better, and I'm surprised if the 12 pro max can do better than this. To be honest, you can look at overall. Every single portion of the photo the iPhone 12 mini, was able to light up this whole entire box. So much better, now, focusing in on this little corner right here, you can kind of see that every single aspect of this photo not only the brightness but the sharpening look at the edge of this box, how much more sharpened it is on the iPhone 12 mini, but also the actual iPhone on the box. Look at how much noise there is in these photos.

I don't even. I didn't even think that 10 was photos. Were this noisy, but compared to this new generation with the 12 mini, there's so much less noise in these photos. It is not even funny so for sure when it comes down to this one, the night mode capability and just the overall photos look so much better on the iPhone 12 mini for sure, and this is just another photo that I took and I would probably be better on the iPhone 10r it'll, probably be better on the iPhone 12 mini. This was like pretty basic test when it comes down to it and again, not too much craziness going on, but again the better edge detection is going on with the iPhone 12 mini for sure.

Now. This next photo might look a little weird on both, but I stood from the same spot on both, and I zoomed in as much as I could and pretty much. What I was able to see right here was that look at how much both these don't have ultrawide set. Both these don't have. You know, telephoto lenses, even though the iPhone 12 does have that ultra sensor.

You can just see that between both the iPhone 10, I don't know what it was trying to focus on like there's again just so much more noise going on with it with the iPhone 12 mini, looks so much better. But one thing I don't understand is what was the iPhone 10 focusing on? Was it just having a hard time focusing on here, because it doesn't even look like it focused in on anything on the iPhone 10r? It just looks so weird. The 12 minute did a far better job here, and this photo may look a little weird again, but pretty much. What I did was, I just you know, stood at the same spot between both into the ultra-wide camera. You know I just zoomed out as much as I could so standing at the same distance.

Look, how much more of a photo you're able to get on the iPhone 12 mini than on the iPhone 10r you're, able to zoom out much more on the 12 mini. These were at the same as the distances between both, and you're, able to zoom out much more than you think. So for sure. The iPhone 12 mini has more capability there. Now I did a video test between both as well, and you can probably see between both at the iPhone 12 mini again did kind of a better job.

I don't really notice too many differences when I go back this far yeah there's some subtle ones here and there, but for sure you're, probably getting a better video- and you know camera setup overall on the iPhone 12 mini than the 10r. They both can do 4k 60 on the back, but the iPhone 12 mini can do 4k 60 on the front as well, but the iPhone 10 or can only do 1080p. So to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you go and pick up the iPhone 12 mini? Should you pick up the iPhone x for their camera, but what I can tell you was for sure? In my opinion, the iPhone x camera still is not that bad, like it's actually a pretty decent camera setup for sure. Is it perfect? Absolutely not again, you know some limitations. Are it doesn't? It only has one sensor: there's not a crazy amount of capability behind it, but for sure when it comes down to it, I think the 10 horse camera is good, but the 12 minutes camera is so much better.

One immediate thing that I saw between both was that the 12 mini had so much more capability when it came down to sharpening the photos. For some reason, the 12 mini just kind of you know sharpened. Every single photo up a little better, at least noticeably better than the iPhone 10r. Does that mean the 10r camera is ugly or bad not at all, but that just showcases that the 12 minutes camera is so much better when it comes down to the sharpening the night mode, even some outdoor photos, it looked better on the 12 minutes, so that kind of summons the video for the most part, if you guys have any other questions or anything, let me know in the comment section below hit the like button help me so much, but definitely hit that subscribe button every single subscriber that week I really discount.
