iPhone 12 Mini Vs iPhone 11! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison between the newly released iPhone, 12 mini and the know somewhat older, iPhone 11, and I have to sneeze. So excuse me now the iPhone 12 mini just came out, and I literally I think I spent almost 800 to pick it up. It was 729 plus taxes and everything it was expensive phone for sure, but it's a newer phone but the iPhone 11. You can still pick it up brand new from the Apple Store for 5.99. It's also on Amazon for much cheaper and definitely when you look at them side by side, it's kind of funny, because the 12 mini it looks like a mock-up of a phone that we wanted in the like last year, when I was making those iPhone SE 2 rumors and those leaks it pretty much looked just like this phone now I will find the cheapest ones about these link them down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel. At the same time now side by side.

You can definitely see that the iPhone 12 mini is a much, much smaller phone than the iPhone 11, and I'm pretty sure that the whole entire display of the iPhone 11 doesn't even cover the whole entire phone, which is crazy. I can definitely tell you when you hold both of them side by side like this, you can tell the iPhone 12 mini is a much smaller phone, it doesn't feel cheap, and it's not even like a budget phone, it's like actual, like small phone, with the same internals as the iPhone 12, but if you already have an iPhone 11 like and if you don't care about the sizes, the iPhone 11 may be a perfect. Pickup too. Now on the front of the iPhone 11, you have that 6.1 inch IPS panel, and it was a good panel, like the resolution, isn't crazy high there's. Nothing really super awesome about it, but it's actually a perfect panel still- and I've said this before, and I'll say it again.

I think, since after the 10r, a lot of people's opinion has changed and the fact that apple moved away from the home button design is good enough for a lot of people and the market showed not a lot of people care about having an OLED panel or whatever, and this phone is still killing it. It's still a great device. It feels perfect. The panel is good, it has the notch, and you know even with the 12 mini it still has the notch. It's not like it's removed it, or it's like a crazy new, crazy cool design.

Yeah. They did the flat sides on it, but everything else is pretty much the same. It's just a smaller form factor. You have that 5.4 inch super red, MTR OLED panel, it's 1080p, so higher resolution than the iPhone 11. I think that's cool, and I think that's great and everything and the panel itself is actually pretty decent.

I don't know who made this panel. Furthermore, I think it was lg or Samsung. Furthermore, I think I've heard rumors. It was lg, but it just looks a little different to me than the iPhone 11 Pro series. The 11 pro had a great panel all around to it.

With these series, even with my 12 pro just seems a little different, not a big deal. It just seems like the colors are a little cooler now, when you look at them side by side, I don't really think anybody's really going to care too much, so I'll probably give it to the 12 mini for having a high resolution. But if you like that bigger phone, the iPhone 11 is still there in terms of the thickness, though the iPhone 12 mini is set to, I guess be thinner than the iPhone 11. But again, this is a classic case that, with that thicker with the flat sides, it makes the phone feel a little thicker, even though it's not with the curved sides on this phone. Actually, both of them feel kind of thick.

They both feel kind. Actually, the iPhone 11 may actually feel a little thinner and thicker. To be honest, and on the back, you have dual camera setups on both 12 megapixel lenses. Overall same pretty much glass back same texture, it's just you do have the flat sides on the iPhone 12 mini, which makes it feel a little cooler. I guess, but also the curved sides are perfectly fine, so I don't think anybody really cares.

To be honest, you have IP certification on both. You have pretty much the same storage models on both as well, so nothing super crazy there and that really pretty much covers it up in terms of the outside. Both of my wireless charging lightning ports on the bottom, pretty much the same thing. It's just. You have the flat sides and a much smaller display and smaller form factor on the iPhone 12 mini than on the iPhone 11.

So software, wise though this is where probably there's going to be a little of a problem or a little of a difference. The iPhone 11 is theoretically going to last one year less than the iPhone 12 mini in terms of software. So what does that mean? Basically, if the iPhone 12 mini ends, like I think at like 2025 or 26, the iPhone 11 is going to end in 2024 or 25. So that's literally how far along the road- it's probably going to be now with me and sooner or may and after, but it's going to be around that ballpark. So keep that in mind.

It's not like you're going to be getting. You know like a crazy longer supporting phone on the 12 mini iPhones are meant to be lasting for a super long amount of time, so you can pick up an iPhone 10 still and still have. You know several more years of software support, which is awesome, so software wise that pretty much covers it up. It's a super easy topic. Now, let's go ahead and do a little of a speed comparison between both these phones.

The iPhone 11 has that Apple A13, bionic chip inside it with four gigabytes of ram with the iPhone 12 mini, has that Apple A14 bionic chip inside it with four gigabytes of ram as well. So, let's go and see which one is the faster phone between both of these okay. Now that we're back, let me go and clear all the apps in the background, which I think they are already clear, perfect. Let's do phone calls three two one and the twelve mini was like almost instantaneous. Let's do music three two one and maybe the 12 mini is gonna.

Be fast. I'm not really to sure this one is like always stuck on loading. I don't really get that one to be honest, app store. Three two one 12 mini is faster iPhone.11 may just have network issues, I'm not really 100 to sure. What's going on with it, so I'll, just kind of chalk it up to network issues.

In that case, let's go and load up these third-party apps that I have downloaded on both. Let's do fruit ninja three, two one. Hopefully I don't have any more network issues, but it's a total possibility, and it might not seem like it. Okay, we have the little pop-up on the 12 mini the iPhone 11 taken it's time. It's totally.

Okay, but there's already this big of a difference, I don't know what's going on with the 12 mini today, you know it took this long field to connect. So maybe there is a network connection error. That's going on right now, maybe the network's down or something. Let's do. Twitter, 321, 12 minute faster, iPhone 11 still want to have these network issues does not make any sense to me.

I was already connected to the Wi-Fi, so I'll go and turn it off and turn it on. Hopefully, this fixes it. Okay, there we go. Let's do temple run two three, two one. I don't think this required the network connection, and you can just see how much faster the iPhone 12 mini is over the iPhone 11, and I don't know, what's going on with the iPhone 11 guys, I'm updated to iOS 14.2. It should be good to go.

Okay now we're starting to download it. So I don't know if this is an actual network issue or if it's just an iPhone glitch going on with the iPhone 11 on iOS 14.2, I'm not 100 too certain. But that's honestly very weird thing in terms of gameplay, though probably going to be around the same. I would imagine, as you can see, they're roughly around the same there's, not a really ginormous difference between them. As you can see, so, let's go and hop out of here.

Let's do the next one BFA three, two one twelve mini faster iPhone 11 shortly behind it, not a ginormous difference, Quizlet three, two one 12 minute faster, iPhone, 11 a little behind it. That's pretty much noticeable Dropbox, 321, 12 mini again is faster, iPhone 11. Shortly behind it. There we go finally get into it. Let's do Netflix three two one and, as you can see, the 12 minute was faster.

iPhone.11 is going to be shortly behind it again stuck on the loading page. I guess we'll just let this one kind of go. Let's do snake versus blocks three, two one and again 12 minutes faster, iPhone 11 shortly behind getting into some gameplay. Let's see if there's a difference and as I said before, there may not be they're, probably going to be roughly around the same, but you guys can see it's a pretty basic game. Thank you.

Three two one 12 minutes faster iPhone 11 shortly behind it getting into some gameplay, let's see if there's a difference and as usual, there's probably not going to be, since this is a basic game. Let's do stack three two ones. It's 12 minutes faster, iPhone, 11 shortly behind it for sure it was faster to get into the overall app, which is pretty interesting Instagram. I won't even do it paper out two three two one, and you can see the 12 mini was way faster, the iPhone 11 shortly behind it getting into some gameplay. Let's see if there's a difference- and I don't think, there's going to be a difference here at all- maybe uh they're about the same there's, not a big difference at all wheel racing three, three two one- and hopefully we don't have to download it on the iPhone 11, but considering how today's been it's probably going to have to download it and the 12 mini is loaded for the most part, the iPhone 11 is still loading, and I'll.

I'll, probably just say the 12 minute was faster here, and it's probably going to have to download it now, it's kind of that's what it's looking like and the iPhone 11 actually didn't have to download it. So if you can look at that, that's a pretty big difference in my opinion, so to kind of sum up the speed comparison, I really do think the 12 mini is probably going to be the faster one. As expected. That's actually very surprising to me, I wasn't expecting the iPhone 12 mini to do this. Well now I don't know, what's going on with this specifically with the iPhone 11, it could be just a glitch in iOS 14.2. It could be an actual issue, maybe the iPhone 12 money is actually this much faster, but I haven't seen the iPhone 11 mess up this much in my opinion, so I guess I'll just see what happens in the future if there are more updates, but I could do a full speed comparison between these two very soon.

So whenever that drops I'll link it down below or something, but actually the ram management may have just been a little better on the iPhone 11 there, which is very weird. So, let's take it back. Let's do one more app. Both of them are about the same. So once I do my full speed comparison apply, I make more sense, but let's go and hit on the cameras.

Now dual camera setups on both of them are wide angle, lens, 12, megapixels and then 12 megapixel ultra-wide sensors, which I think is actually perfect, and I like that now they both have pretty much the same exact features for the most part, both can do 4k at 60 on the back camera, which is cool, and both of them can do 4k 60 on the front camera as well. So definitely when it comes down to the camera, sensors they're more or less the same. Now, when you have a device like the iPhone 11, I mean it's still going to be a very good camera sensor. I'm going to do a full camera comparison between these two, like I stated, but I'm pretty sure we're going to find about the same type of performance on both they're, both going to be perfect camera sensors they're both going to be able to do pretty much the same exact things for the most part, and I don't really think there's one reason to go from. You know the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 12 mini just because of the camera sensor, but I will say because the iPhone 12 mini is the newer phone.

It does kind of make more sense for me to say and kind of reiterate the fact that quite potentially, the iPhone 12 mini is going to have the better camera and that's expected because it's the newer phone, but just because it's a newer phone doesn't mean it's the best phone to pick up because of the camera, and I would definitely tell you if the iPhone 11 camera was like. You know, maybe a little behind or if I had to say something about the difference here. It would be basically the iPhone 11, it's extremely close to the quality and the video quality and photo quality of the camera lens on the iPhone 12 mini. That was a very awkward way of saying it, but they're almost pretty much the same as that camera, if I'm being honest now ending it off with the battery life. The iPhone 11 had a hundred 3 ten million power battery.

The iPhone 12 mini had a 2 27 millibar battery, and I will do a full battery comparison between these two extremely soon. So I can kind of show you know which eventually will have the best standby time and stuff, but I'll probably assume that the iPhone 11 has the better battery, because the resolution of the panel and the iPhone 12 mini is a more powerful phone, it should make more sense that it probably won't last as long especially with this way smaller battery than the iPhone 11. So I guess we'll see what happens, but to kind of sum up this video and say answer the question: should you pick up the iPhone 11? Should you get the 12 mini? Should you upgrade from the 11 to the 12 mini? What I can tell you is that starting off with the iPhone 11, there is a lot of pros with this phone. First, for me personally, I like the size I like the size of the iPhone 11, I kind of like the smaller size of the 12 mini. I used to be a smaller phone type of guy, and then I was kind of like a bigger phone type of guy, and now I kind of like this medium-sized phone.

It's definitely a perfect size for me, the panel, I think a lot of people may look at the phone itself and be kind of scared because they don't know the IPS panel is good enough for them. Honestly, I used to think it was a big deal too. It's really not that big video to me anymore, IPS panels are perfectly fine, there's a little of noticeable bezel around the phone compared to the tall mini, but I still think it's totally. Okay, the notch design is the same on both really you're, just getting a smaller form factor and maybe like a better performing phone other than that. There's really not that big of a difference like you are getting a longer supporting phone, a lot of longer supported phone on the iPhone 12 mini, but I don't even think I would go from the iPhone 11 to the 12 mini just because of that.

I definitely don't think it's an upgrade. Even going from the iPhone 11 to the 12 mini, I think it's like very, very close with the 12 mini, though you're getting a perfect, build quality and newer type of design. You know your flat side, which I like you're, getting of course that dual camera setup on the back great build quality. It seems very small, it's kind of funny that this is even a phone beautiful screen and upgrading the screen quality, though you're getting OLED, which is cool. But again I don't know how many people really care about that software updates.

You know you're getting an extra year of software updates on this phone too, but if the these two, if these two phones were the same price- and I think it would have been a little more appealing and a little safer- I guess but the fact that the iPhone 11 this bigger phone- that's not even that much worse than the iPhone 12 mini- is like 599. It's very you know convincing for me to recommend this phone to people over this phone. I mean this is 729. This is 5.99, and this just makes more sense to me. In my opinion, there's really nothing too crazy.

That 12 mini can do that. The 11 can't if this phone had like reverse charging or 120 hertz display, or something like that, then maybe I would recommend this phone a little more to people, but I don't know even like with the 12 pro and the iPhone 12 and the 12 pro max. It just doesn't seem like it was that crazy of an upgrade this year, and I'll definitely say between these two, the 12 mini- does have some pros for sure. You know it's definitely you know going places and I like it and I like the size of it, but if you're, okay with a bigger phone, and you're okay, with spending less money on a phone, this phone is still perfectly fine. It's still completely capable.

I would not recommend going from an iPhone 11 to the 12 mini in my opinion.
