iPad Pro vs iPad mini 5 | iPadOS (2019) FULL Comparison!

So today we got a pretty interesting video here we got iPad Mini fifth generation versus the iPad Pro 11 and technically the twelve point: nine, if you're, considering both devices, you know kind of weighing the form factor and the features. This is definitely the video for you, but before we continue, I'd really appreciate it. If you leave a like in this video comment, if you have any questions, suggestions or opinions as the algorithm likes that and will help push my videos to more people, so without wasting any more time, let's jump into this iPad comparison, this video is brought to you by tectonics and their sound liberty. Fifty-three WS earbuds so beginning with design here. Obviously, the biggest difference is the form factor. You have an eleven inch and a twelve point.

Nine inch with the pro. Where is your have a seven point, nine inches with the mini this? Are you know if you want to maximize screen real estate? You know you want to have more room to multitask and draw and do other tasks, whereas this is you know you want enough space, but you also want a know. Very one handle or more manageable form factor. You know something that's more compact, and maybe you don't want something as unwieldy as something like the pro here and there's also obvious differences in aesthetic. You know you have a newer.

Furthermore, you know more modern, looking design, no home button, purely gesture based navigation here, whereas with the mini you have the iPad Air design that was introduced in 2013 and not much has changed still the home button, you still the thicker bezels. So if you want to go for a more futuristic look, you want to go with the trends and everything then I guess the pro is for you. Although it's kind of a stupid, you know choice, because, you could obviously go with the air three and be perfectly happy if you don't need the pearl, but you know that is fine. Keep in mind, whereas the only iPad Mini it has an older look, but it doesn't look bad. I don't think, and it's very comfortable to hold it's fairly.

Slim and yeah both look nice, but obviously this is a more futuristic looking device. You also have USB type-c with the pro. So if that's something you want to jump on board with, you know, you want to have more connectivity more bandwidth more. You know, expansion options. I guess with you know, like dongles and whatever this is the device you're going to want to get, whereas you just get the legacy lightning port here, which is kind of being phased out, but that's pretty much what you get.

You also get a headphone jack here, unlike with the pro. So, if you're, someone who really does rely on wired headphones and the mini might be for you, but you know you can just get a wireless pair of headphones and just be fine with the pro. You also have a spot to attach your pencil with the iPad Pro cause. Obviously it's very centered around Apple Pencil use, whereas with the iPad Mini, it does support the first-generation pencil, but you don't have anywhere to you know, dock or hook it up to the iPad. You just got to keep it in a sleeve, or you know not lose it.

Last thing. I want to talk about speakers. They're kind of underwhelming, with the mini I mean at this. You know devices price point, it kind of makes sense, there's two down firing ones, they're, soft or quieter than you know what I've gotten with my ear, two or a nine point, seven-inch iPad, but they sound pretty decent and work. You know for casual Spotify, listening, and you know YouTube watching, whereas with the pro you get quad stereo speakers, they're super loud they're, super crisp, and they're great, for you know doing anything from you know, casual listening to you know, maybe even music production, if you're so inclined, I really do enjoy the speakers in there a big plus of having this tablet.

So comparing displays your here's where things get interesting, so you have a higher contrast, higher quality display with the pro obviously you're paying more for it. You also have the 120 Hertz refresh rate, where things are just locked at 60 with the iPad Mini. However, you do get a higher pixel density. If that's important to you. So things are gonna, look a little more sharp, especially in regard to the UI with the mini here.

As you know, the pixels are smaller with this display, but yeah you get a higher contrast display it's their best. You know they call it liquid retina, it's just an LCD. This is IPS, it still looks great both have true tones, so I would say: I mean for the most part. Both this place look fantastic, but obviously this is going to have higher contrast, it's gonna look better. The refresh rate is also a huge thing.

I mean it just makes the user experience a whole different. You know animal, it's a really, really great buttery. You know ride with the iPad Pro, but I mean for the most part. I guess I would say the minis displays eighty percent of what this one is and if you're not super concerned about you know the extra power you go to the extra size in terms of disability. There's not gonna, be a humongous difference other than I would say the refresh rate, so yeah both are great for watching YouTube videos.

That's going to be a little better with the quad speakers. The lack of a home button, I guess, but yeah both displays are pretty decent. If you're not too particular you don't need the bigger size, and you're not concerned about contrast and the refresh rate. The Mine might be right for you, but if you want to get that promotion, then you know you're, not going to have a choice. You have to get the pro moving on to battery life here, I'm going to be totally honest with you.

I, don't have you know the best figures here to tell you, but from what I can tell after using these devices for a while I would say they both get comparable battery if the a12 chips within them. Even though this one has an 8 12 X are both very power efficient, they power sip, you can get. You know, Apple claims. You know 10 is hours with both you're watching video and that's not too far off from what I've gotten you know, I dude like note-taking and YouTube, watching just general. Furthermore, you know casual usage, I, don't do heavy things all the time with these devices at least not yet, but I've been able to get comparable battery life and charging isn't too slow either.

Obviously you get you know. USB type-c charging with this device and lightning with here method. That makes too much of a difference but yeah in regard to battery life. Both are very admirable. Apple iPads are just the best for just longevity and whatever you can definitely get through a day no issue.

One of these might last longer than the other. It might be. The pro I think, but both really do last long and will get you through your day of work with whatever you're doing moving on to camera. Here you get a sensor, that's similar to that of the iPhone seven or eight with a 12 megapixel. You know sensor size and a flash.

You also get a 7 megapixel front-facing camera, with the face ID tech with the pro, whereas with the iPad Mini, you get the same old, same old camera setup, we've seen for years with the iPad Air 2, a 1, megapixel is front facing camera and an 8 megapixel back facing camera, no flash, it's not the best, but I mean if you're doing iPad photography, I just pray that you're not taking pictures of people or things, and you're not doing anything too crazy. Although I did make a video solely with my iPad Pro I, don't recommend it for most. You know cases unless you absolutely have to your know: you're going to be wanting to take pictures of documents and just kind of mundane things with your iPad. For the most part, I mean I'm, not you can't judge, but that's what I would assume what people would use it for I would see the benefit that you get with. The pro is the higher resolution and the flash- and you know better selfies but other than that.

It's not gonna, be the biggest factor, and you know you're deciding which iPad you want. I would not pick up the iPad Pro just for its camera. I would pick up the iPad Pro for its several other amazing features and aspects, but yeah, it is better. You do get 4k, you do get 1080p 60, you do get a flash. You get better.

Front-Facing images in the know an emoji tech with the iPad Pro and if that's important to you, then you know by all means get the iPad Pro, but it's definitely not a reason to buy this tablet, because with this you know you get decent enough pictures. You get decent, FaceTime video, and you can just take pictures of documents and, like I, said, mundane things no problem with this device. It's not going to be that much of a difference in that regard, and last but not least, let's talk performance with these devices, both pack 12 chips. However, this one packs the 12 X chip, so it's a beefed-up processor with more RAM, and you know you just get better multi-core score. So if you're doing you know like okay, editing and insane stuff, obviously this is gonna, be the eye.

Pin you want to get it rivals some. You know MacBook Airs and MacBook Pros, the iPad Mini does too with just the 812. You know it rivals. Even my MacBook Pro that I'm using here to record my audio. It has a really powerful chip in here the same chip found in the 10s and a tennis match.

So both are not lacking power. In any regard, you can do gaming, heavy tasks if you want, but if you know want that extra performance boost in more RAM you're. Obviously, going to want to go with the pro, but in, regarding you know, everyday tasks, I mean everything's buttery smooth. Absolutely, things are gonna. Look a little more buttery with you, 120 Hertz display, but I've had absolutely no hiccups with the many no stutters, no hangups, even with iPadOS with it being.

You know, not perfect, it's still in a beta form, but yeah opening an app. You know multitasking, all that stuff is very, very smooth with both of these devices. Furthermore, you're not going to have an issue once again with most you know, casual everyday tasks and even some having ones because at the end of the day, the a12 you know, even the non x version is one of the most powerful processors or mobile processors on the market. So you're not lacking power here, but I would say, buy the iPad Pro if you want the extra power, and you just want the extra screen real estate as well- and you know the additional features like you know- the convenience of having your pencil attached to the iPad itself, the better camera USB type-c connection, the better speakers, the more industrial you know slab or tab looking design. But you know the mini is no slouch either.

You know it keeps up it. Does things really quickly? No stuttering? Once again, it's just a very smooth experience, but you know it has an older, more legacy design Apple Pencil first-generation. But you know, as I've said in previous videos, you can get work done on this device, even though it's small, and I would say. You're going to want to buy this device if you're lacking the funds and if you don't feel like lugging around, you know a huge, unwieldy, iPad because, some people. You know the twelve point, nine in the eleven inch, even the nine point, seven and ten point five inches might be too big for them.

So you know the iPad Mini, especially with it's you know, tiny form-factor, its compactness might appeal to you, and you're not really lacking too much power there. So yeah. Both these devices obviously are really great. You can't really go wrong with either both our power both offer really smooth experiences, especially with iPad, OS and yeah I mean once again. If you want the compact form factor, don't have the funds go with the mini you're, not gonna, miss out on too much, whereas with the iPad Pro.

If you're someone who wants to do creative work takes a lot of notes, you know, wants a bigger display and that promotion, then by all means, buy this. It is definitely worth the money, especially on sale, because you can find this for perfect deals and a lot of places I got mine at Micro Center for 669, so I was able to buy the pencil and the iPad for the same price as the original MSRP for the pro 11 and also don't be afraid to price check. I actually got this mini for like $30 off, because Micro Center was having a sale. So I got this for 379 and the Apple Pencil first-generation for 89 open box. So once again, this video is brought to you by our onyx and their sound liberty, 53 TWS, earbuds they're, actually a really great ear, pods alternative.

They cost around 50 bucks off Amazon. They have 33 feet of range 5 hours of playback time and a capacity of 650 million hours. Furthermore, they also have really decent sound quality with really distinct, clear highs, indefinite. You know, bass and yeah I'm overall, really impressed with these they're a great you know: ear pods alternative for a third of the cost. I left the link in the description.

If you want to check these out, and you can get them for $10 off with the code NOAA tt5 3 and that about wraps things up, I hope this video helped you out, as always, I'd really appreciate it.
