iPad Pro 3rd Generation In 2021! (Still Worth Buying?) (Review)

Welcome back everyone so far, I've pretty much reviewed almost every single iPad this year, except for a couple and well the last couple of ones. I have been the iPad Pro third generations now these iPads are just the last gen of the iPad pros that just came out last year, and I will tell you there really isn't that big of a difference from the latest and greatest iPad Pro 4th generation and the iPad Pro third generation. To be honest, like they're, very pretty much the same thing now, I will tell you this is my personal iPad that I use for pretty much everything. I really don't use an iPad that much anymore, but really whenever I pick up my Apple Pencil too, and you know try to use an iPad. This is the iPad that I tend to use just because it's right there, and it's super reliable, and I will tell you- I think this is one of the best iPads apple has ever made. Besides, like the first iPad- and this is easily one of the best deals you can get on a used iPad and especially with the iPad Pro fifth generation coming out.

This is a no-brainer in so many ways now, starting off with the front. First, if you want to pick up either one of these, the 11 inch or 12.9 inch models, get them from the links down below you can get them from there and help support the channel. At the same time now, looking on the front of both of these, you know specific tablets. There was an 11-inch model and a 12.9 inch model. They are almost exactly the same thing, with almost the exact same specifications inside them, but pretty much.

The screen sizes are the main differences, as well as the battery life other than that almost exactly the same thing now I personally do like the 11-inch model. I feel like though it being smaller is just nicer, but some people may prefer the bigger models, but both of these have perfect displays. I really like them. They look very, very sharp and, having that slim bezel around the whole entire body with it, you know, having face ID is something that's really cool, and I've said this time and time again, but when apple switched over from their home button design to this type of design, it just makes me think like how much better can apple go in terms of the front of this thing, because they can't how much better can it look? Maybe they can push the bezels out a little more, but it's very close to almost being bezel-less, so Apple has to do some really crazy things with these next iPads now you do have USB type-c on the bottom, which is another humongous asset on this device having that type of capability, and having that I o can really kind of increase the amount of things you can do on this type of iPad. Now, the lightning port is great.

I like the lightning port too, but this takes it to another level, and I've always enjoyed having this type of capability. This type of charging port on this type of device and on the back, you have the aluminum back on this thing, which is beautiful as well with the single camera setup. Now this thing still feels perfect in the hand, it literally feels you know just like an iPhone 12. This thing came out in 2018, and it feels even more up to date because of the iPhone 12 release because of the flat sides. The fact that this thing didn't come out with curved sides, or whatever makes this thing, that much better and that much more premium in the longer so just the feeling in and of itself of this device gets a thumbs up.

For me, it's still a solid feeling, iPad, you've kind of seen some iPads come and go, and the designs kind of stay the same with the home button designs, especially but anytime. We get an increase in terms of screen size and the removal of the home button with just the bezel design just makes it last that much longer. In my opinion, you look at the iPad Air 3 to the air 4. The same exact thing happened there too, so that pretty much covers it up on the outside of this iPad now hitting on the camera setup, both the 12.9 inch model and 11 inch model, like I mentioned before, have the same thing going on the single 12 megapixel lenses. You can go up to 4k at 60 on that specific lens, which again this thing came out in you know 2018.

This is a really strong acid for this type of device. I actually shot some videos on this specific iPad. I think some of my battery comparisons that I did when I'm just quickly kind of filming something I actually used my iPad because it was the only other device. Furthermore, I wasn't using at that time that had a really decent camera. This thing is pretty much almost like an iPhone 10r camera on the back, and I think that's an awesome thing that this thing has going for it.

The fact that not that many people even use iPad cameras, you know that's kind of a huge thing. You have to keep in mind, but in my case sometimes when all my good phones are being taken care of, and I only have like an iPhone 5, that's lying around or something I like, having the ability of remembering that I have my iPad Pro that, just in case I'm using all my devices, I still have a very strong. You know camera that I can go ahead and use and film in if I need to go up to 4k 60, which I never do, but having that ability makes it that much better, and it's actually a perfect lens. As I mentioned before. On the front, it's still a 7 megapixel sensor.

Now you can only do 1080p at 30 on the front camera, which I think is plenty enough for a lot of people. I don't think anybody's doing any like front camera. You know video recording on their iPad. I think most people end up using their iPads as like a teleprompter or something like that, but in my case having this iPad as something like a FaceTime machine or just kind of you know doing Google Maps or Zoom calls or whatever this iPad. This is the area where it kills it in this is another really strong asset for it.

It would have been really cool if we had like 1080p at 60 on the front or 4k on the front, but I still think 1080p at 30 is more than enough for a lot of people, and even in my case I don't use my iPad camera. I don't really shoot too much stuff on my iPad or iPhone or anything like that, but I like having the ability of doing so. If I need to, so the back camera perfect for me, I really don't expect it to be that much better for the iPad Pro 5th gen, I'm totally content with it. The front camera could, you know, have some improvements here and there, but I still think it's a very solid lens for both the front and the back. Now.

Moving on to one of the best things about this device, two things, first software, this device is going to last so long in terms of software that, even though this thing came out in 2018, it's three years old or pushing three years old at this point, you are still going to be getting so many years of software support from this thing that it's almost going to feel like you're picking up a brand new iPad. Now, what I mean by that is, I always bring this up. If you get this iPad even in december 2021, you are still going to be probably getting software support to the day that you drop this iPad, and it cracks or whatever the case is, or you sell it to go, get a new one. You will probably end up moving on from this iPad one way or another before this thing stops getting stopped for support. Now, there are two things about that: one: it has the same chipset pretty much as the iPhone 10s and 10s max, and those phones and those came out not too long ago.

So, that's you know cool thing in it of itself, but the second thing is that it doesn't even have the same chipset it's a little above it. So it has that e12 x chip now we've seen this time and time again with the iPad Air, 2 and iPad Mini 4. Those things had the a8 x chip and those things lasted much longer than the iPhones of that year, and it's, I kind of see the same thing going on here, because the iPad Pro 3rd gen and the iPad Pro 4chan looks so much alike. I kind of see you know the same thing going on and the iPad Pro 4th gen has like the a12 z chip or something like that. I don't even know, so you're going to be getting long-lasting iPads from both.

So that's great, but the battery life on both iPads is great as well, so that smaller iPad, the 11-inch one has a 7812 mm battery. The bigger one has a pretty big 9720 mm battery, so that's kind of a big difference. If you want to get a better battery life going up to that, you know, 12.9 inch model is going to get you over a better battery life from what I've seen it from what I've heard. So keep that in mind. I've only tested the 11-inch iPad, but from what I've seen and from all the reports, it looks like that 12.9-inch iPad is far better experience from what I've seen so keep that in mind, but that's kind of what I'm saying at this point, so that covers up pretty much one of my favorite things about this iPad, now ending it off with the performance. These devices, like I mentioned before the iPad Pro 3rd gen, both of them have that a 12x bionic chip inside it and there were a couple different models of this device.

The base models of all of them have four gigabytes of ram. The top tier models have six gags of ram. So keep that in mind, whichever one you want more ram of. Obviously, you know kind of figure it out from there, but I can tell you these iPads compared to even the iPhones compared to anything. These are still such great iPads in so many ways in terms of performance.

If there was one thing to complain about on this phone, it's not going to be the performance it's going to be. Probably I don't even know like the performance of this tablet is still perfect. Now, looking at it, you know day-to-day tasks, you're going to be perfectly fine. With this, you know it's going to be able to breeze through everything perfectly fine taking it up enough to even like middle intensive apps. You know, like you know, kind of mildly, intensive gaming, and you know maybe multitasking between a ton of apps.

You know you're highlighting a bunch of stuff and editing some, maybe light videos and stuff you're, going to be perfectly fine and again even taking it up a notch to those higher intensive things like heavy intensive gaming or like editing a bunch of videos at one time and exporting speeds, and all that you're going to be perfectly fine on this iPad 2. I can't really at least I've never been in a situation where this thing couldn't handle what I threw at it. The only problems I have with it for the most part, are like the itchiness and the pieces of software. So if I'm updating type header what's 13 or iPadOS 14, there can be some glitches here and there. But even then it's not that big of a deal and I think, for the most part, it's an extremely smooth iPad.

It has that 120 hertz refresh rate on the panel as well. If you want to enable it and that's another huge asset, it just keeps it's like the gift that keeps on giving. There are so many assets for this thing at the end of the day, and the performance is one of those things that are still going to hold up extremely well now. It could be a time when you want to go ahead and upgrade to the iPad Pro 6th gen at the time whenever it comes out, and maybe then that's when these iPads start getting, you know much faster in terms of one or the other. I think the only thing that's even faster than this in an iPad sense.

Besides, the 4th gen is like the iPad Air 4. , because that thing has a newer, a14 bionic chip inside it. Maybe it makes it that much better of a know iPad, but you're, giving up a couple of things you're, giving up your face, Eddie and you're, giving up 120 hertz. So keep that in mind. That's kind of what I'm saying, but the performance of this iPad for sure is a solid thing at the end of the day.

So to kind of sum up this video and answer the question is the iPad Pro third generation still worth it in 2021 dude? As I mentioned before, this is one of the strongest assets for this iPad. It just stands up so well compared to all the other devices that I've seen for the most part. There are a couple of reasons to update, but to be honest, if you don't have this iPad, and you're looking for an iPad getting on the used market or getting them from the links down below dude, they are such strong iPads for the price tag, the iPad pros. You know the current ones are so expensive. You know for what these we're going for and what these are right now, in the price tag you can get them for, like around 600, probably even less than that.

Those new iPads are like 8.99 like over a thousand dollars for some configurations and that's a lot of money to spend on an iPad 4th gen with this one, it's almost like 90 or like 95 of what the iPad Pro fortune is, but it does everything for the most part. It's such a solid camera. I really don't have too many complaints about it. It's definitely not perfect, but either you get the 11 inch or the 12-inch model. You are going to be getting a solid iPad in 2021.

These things are very strong. They still handle everything you throw at it. I really don't even have too many complaints, maybe the front camera. Hopefully you know it gets a huge improvement sometime soon, but I think other than that it's such a solid iPad for sure, and I would highly recommend anyone to pick one up in 2021, so that pretty much covers it up.
