iPad Pro 2020 11" vs 12.9" - Was I Wrong?

Hi everyone canopy here I think I'm in the wrong studio. Hi everyone canopy here I've been a pretty big fan of the 11-inch iPad Pro for quite a while. Now ever since the redesigned back in 2018 I went with the 11-inch model over the 12 point, 9 inch model and I haven't looked back, but I've still been pretty curious about the 12 point.9-inch, iPad Pro, especially now in 2020, with the iPad becoming much more of a computer replacement. I wanted to see if the bigger screen was in fact worth it. So I got one and that's what this video is all about. Who should choose which iPad Pro size and which size I prefer after using both for a little while, but first a quick thanks to our sponsor paper-like and accessory for your iPad.

That makes writing and drawing feel a little more, like paper hit the link in the description to learn more so straight up. Here's a difference in size between the 11 inch and 12 point 9-inch iPad Pro. You can also print out mock-ups for yourself at the link in the description. So you can actually see which iPad size is right for you, but the size is not all that matters here. The 12 point 9 inches is great for people who have ditched their laptop or desktop computer, and this is their main computer.

It's basically laptop sized. It's awesome for people who use their iPad for sketching as it's just really a bigger canvas and procreate. Furthermore, it's excellent for video editing, it's better, since you have a bigger preview window and are able to see more options while editing in your timeline, it's great for photo editors and graphic designers as once again more screen. You can see more of your image. This is especially prevalent in affinity, photo Lightroom and really any other photo app.

The more of your image. You can see the better, and this carries into many other productivity apps as well, such as in Apple's, I, work, Suites in documents, slideshows and spreadsheets. You can see more at once, such as more words, more slides and more numbers without having to scroll or zoom outs, and this of course applies to web pages as well. Furthermore, you just see a lot more multitasking is also a big feature of the iPad and in the multitasking split view mode, you can see more on your windows and your multitasking windows are also just bigger as well so seeing more on your iPad is, of course, a good thing, but the iPad Pro 11 inches shouldn't be forgotten that quickly, if you want to do any of the things I just mentioned, photo editing, video, editing, graphic design, word processing all those different things. The 11 inch still does them incredibly well, but just shows a little less content, but with the bonus, though, of being a lot more portable, you can easily use this iPad and take it around to more environments and situations a lot easier.

So if you're sitting on a couch you're sitting in a coffee shop outside in a park bench on busy public transit or sitting in the backseat on a road trip, the 11-inch iPad Pro is so much easier to bring around and use in much more tight spaces. It's for people who still want to be able to do work, but do work more. So on the move, it also fits in bags much easier and if you just like having a more compact and easier to carry set up, the 11 inch surely checks that box and when it comes to actually not doing work. If you're reading watching videos or gaming holding the 11-inch iPad Pro as a tablet with no keyboard is much easier and definitely more enjoyable. One of the biggest differences besides the size that is noticeable is the weights for 71 grams, are 1.0 4 pounds on the iPad 11 inch and 641 grams or 1.41 pounds on the 12.9 inch, but in real life, not just numbers. The 11 inch is significantly lighter during daily usage, when using the iPad Pro 11 inches without the keyboard and just as a tablet, it is far more comfortable to hold and use, but with the keyboard, the toe point 9 inches is definitely more comfortable to use.

The keys are slightly larger, with a bit more spacing between the keys, and it's not really a huge difference, but it is somewhat noticeable. There's also a full-sized virtual software keyboard here in the 12 point, 9 inches with an entire numbers row now in terms of everything else, battery life performance, usability, they're, all the same they're, both iPads, they run iOS. They have the same specifications pretty much the exact same all-day battery life, they're identical the only difference is like I said are the is how you use the iPad and the weight now out of these two iPad Pro sizes. Despite the twelve point, nine-inch, iPad being excellent. I still prefer the 11-inch iPad.

It just really fits in my lifestyle, better. It fits in bags easier. Furthermore, it works better as a tablet. Without the keyboard and with the keyboard, it still does work well, while it is definitely smaller, it's not too small and still completely usable. For me, it also weighs less, and it is cheaper, $200 cheaper, that's enough to buy the keyboard folio case and still have money left over.

So that's what iPad Pro size I personally prefer. What about you Noah well Isaac, while I too enjoy the 11-inch iPad Pro 4, it's compact form factor and portable nature. I! Do think that with the bigger iPad Pro the additional 1.9, it just does go a long way, I'm a person who takes a lot of handwritten notes with my iPad Pro with the app good notes v, especially for college alike, my calculus class, and it can get pretty intensive at some times and I just started this math class in first semester. So in January, and up until that point, I had been using the 11-inch iPad Pro the 2018 version that I had bought last July, and it was then that I realized that the screen size just wasn't cutting it. For me, I wanted more screen real estate to work with, especially when multitasking you know, having like the good notes, app or a note, app open with a textbook open as well.

So I can reference practice, problems and stuff like that. So, basically, that's why I opted for the 12 point.9-inch, iPad Pro I'll, just feel less cramped, and I just have a more spacious canvas to work with and if you're somebody with a workflow that will definitely benefit from more screen real estate than by all means. Go ahead and buy the bigger iPad Pro, and although for a hot minute, it will feel like you're wielding a TV. Instead of a tablet, you will quickly become acclimated to its larger size length and get anyways back to you. Isaac! Ok, fair enough! Thanks to my boy Noah for being part of this video, we also make some great iPad Pro content, so check them out at the link in the description.
