Google Pixel 3a Vs Google Pixel 2! (Quick Comparison!)

What's going on everyone welcome back to the channel, as you guys know, the Google Pixel 3a was just announced today, as well as the Google Pixel 3 Excel. So we're going to go ahead and take a comparison. Look the Google Pixel 38 versus the Google Pixel ?, but just remember this is a quick comparison. This isn't like a full in-depth review because I don't have the Pixel 3a, not many people do, so I kind of want to just see what the differences are between these but interesting fact, Google their marketing team that they outsource to. They were about to send me a pixel, 3a and I. Send this in my last video ?, but I just didn't respond to the email like I haven't done sponsorships in a while I think over a year was my last sponsorship and I don't feel like doing them now.

I mean I'll, probably end up doing them when I start losing money on this channel. So once I started doing more sponsorships, that's when you guys know I'm going broke, but in my opinion, I'm going to say this outright. The Google, Pixel 3a I, think, is a pretty good device overall I think it's not bad, but I think dollar for a dollar right now in the used market, because you can't get a pixel to new anymore, unless you, like somebody, has a sealed. I would probably recommend a Google Pixel to a used one over Google, Pixel 3a. Now, there's a couple of reasons why I say that? But let's just go ahead and take a quick look at these.

Look at the differences, the pros and cons that kind of go from there. So the Google Pixel ? for those of you who don't know came out in 2017 in October, so this year it will turn 2 years old and, in my opinion, I think it's a very good-looking device still I mean the 3a kind of looks a little better here and there's a little less bezel, but I do think. There are some pros and cons for both of them. So in terms of the design on the front, the Google Pixel 3, they both have all that displays. The Google Pixel ? actually has an AMOLED display.

If there's even a difference, the Google Pixel 3, it has a 5.6 inch display the Google Pixel 2 has a 5-inch display they're, both 1080p panels, the same PPI, the Google Pixel 3 a's, is resolution a little higher because it is a bigger display. So, but it's still going to be pretty much the same thing: it's not going to be like a humongous difference. Now the Google picks a 3a. It's big marketing tactic. The reason people are going crazy is because of the price tag, it's 399 dollars and that's honestly, a pretty big discount from the Google Pixel 3 and 3 Excel, and I'm actually kind of curious on what the effect will be on the used prices for the 3 and 3 excels, since this one is already cheaper than those.

So, what's what's going to happen there, but the 3a comes in three different colors. It comes in black white and a purplish color, which I actually kind of like now. Surprisingly, I, don't know why they did this, but they put a headphone jack in the 3a, which is weird because they took it out in the cool pixel. ?, it was the first like pixel phone that Google made that took out the headphone jack and people made it a big deal because the year before they were like bragging about how they kept it in, but they took out with this, so it made no sense. There's also a cool little feature with the 3a that you can actually squeeze the sides of it and toggle cool assistant.

That's a cool little thing, you're into that now going into the negative things about the Google Pixel 3, and what its kind of different from the cool pixel to the 3a does not have front-facing stereo speakers, which is kind of weird I, don't know why they took it out with this I mean maybe cost savings. Obviously, that has to be the case, it's kind of weird that they did, that there's also no dual front facing cameras at the Google Pixel 3 had so the Google Pixel 2 does not have it either, but they brought it in with the 3. Then they took it out with the 3a. So I also don't understand. What's going on there now these next two things are things that actually kind of upset me quite a bit I'm, not to sure why they did this.

But if you guys don't know what the Google Pixel 3 they finally added wireless charging to the device, but with the pixel 2 it did not have wireless charging, but with the Pixel 3a it also doesn't have wireless charging, which does not make any sense. Why would they do that? They might as well just put some wireless charging in it because they already put it in the 3, so it makes no sense why they would do that. So it's kind of a negative thing right there don't know why they would step backwards. In that case, another negative is that there's no water resistance? You know the Google Pixel ? from 2017 had water resistance that had ip67 dust and water resistant. You can go up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, but with the Google Pixel 3ei, they didn't add any IP certification to it.

So I'm not too sure why they did that again, that's like another case of them stepping backwards. So the Google Pixel 3a only comes in one storage variant as well. It's a 64, gig variant. The Google Pixel 2 could go up to 128 gigs, so kind of pro right there for the -. You can probably get a 128 lagoon pixel ? cheaper than a 3a.

So that's kind of a thing to keep in mind there again, not like crazy things. Just depends on what your usage is, but for me, I would always rather have more storage variant selections to choose from than having less so that's kind of one thing now. Moving on to the performance. Again, it's going to be kind of hard since I, don't own the Google Pixel 3a, but in terms of the specs inside the Google pics of 3a has a Snapdragon 670 chipset with a googol pixel ? from 2017 has a Snapdragon 835, so I, don't know why they would step backwards and the had Suns. It really makes no sense.

They both have outscore CPUs. There is a little of an upgrade to the 3a and, as the Adrian 615 GPU versus the Arena 540 on the Google Pixel ?, they both have four gigs of ram, and what I can tell you are the performance might be better on the Google Pixel ?, but I don't think these are going to be night and day differences. It's obviously going to be somewhere in the same realm. Maybe if I had to say it because it does have the snapdragon 835, it might be a better performer. But again that's kind of up in the air between these two from this quick comparison, I probably wouldn't say that there's a huge difference between these and performance, but once I get the devices I'm going to go ahead and like sift through that and let you guys know what the performance aspect of both of these phones are.

You know once the comparison happens and moving on to the camera. Okay. So in my opinion it could be the case that the cool Pixel 3a could have a better camera from what they said in the keynote and what they were demonstrating. It seems like the Google Pixel 3a has most of the software integrations that that Google picks with 3 had and the camera sensors on the Google pixels are awesome, but most of the improvements are from the software. I think who will really nail down on the software side of things and the 3a has pretty much the same software as a pixel 3, so maybe the Google Pixel 3a camera might be better, but I don't think again.

This is going to be night and day, I think they're going to be somewhat in the same realm that pixel 2 might be a little better, but also the Pixel 3a might be a little better. So again, not like night and day difference. In my opinion. Now this last thing I want to hit on is the battery life. So the Google Pixel two had a twenty-seven hundred million power battery with a googol Pixel 3a has a three thousand million per hour battery.

That's a pretty big size difference right there. Without a doubt, I will probably give the edge and battery life to the pixel 3 a so to kind of wrap. This whole entire thing up after kind of looking through things, I honestly think that the 3a, if you're, looking at brand-new phones, obviously the 3a is the only brand-new phone. You can get right now, so get it, but I think if you currently own a Google, pixel ? I, don't think it's worth the upgrade 2 or 3 a bit also I. Think the Google Pixel ? might be a better financial deal than the Pixel 3a and what I mean by that you are.

Getting so many more features with the Google Pixel to the 3, a might be faster. It might be that some might be that, but you're also still getting a lot of those core features that the Google Pixel line had like IP, certification and other storage variants. You can choose from that. In my opinion, even though it's a little smaller I would probably end up choosing the Google Pixel ? over the cool Pixel 3a. If I was on a budget, but if I had all the money to spend, you know I guess: I'll go for the 3a I do think the Google Pixel 3a might be a better phone, but I do think.

At the same time, the Google Pixel ? might be a better deal, but honestly for 399 you can get so many other phones like you can get a Galaxy S 9 for less than 399, and I said this. In my last comparison, you can get a Galaxy Note 8 for cheaper than a googol Pixel 3a on Amazon. Of course, those are used but again like you're, getting so much more of a phone from a Galaxy Note 8 than a pixel 3 a's. So I'll go ahead and link a Google Pixel to galaxy s.9 and a Galaxy Note 8 down in the description I'll find the cheapest prices on Amazon. So you can come straight from there.
