Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL First Look and Tour! By Droid Life

Hey, what's going on guys, welcome back Helen here with life and I just got back from Google's big hardware event: this is their fall, 2017 Hardware event where they unveil all of their new hardware products and, of course we got lots and lots of stuff a new Google Home Mini. We got at Google home max we've got new earbuds, we got a new daydream view and, of course we got new phones, a pixel too, and the pixel to excel, and we're going to dive into those right now. So what are you looking at with the pixel 2 in pixel, 2 X out? Well, the pixel 2, we'll start with first is the smaller of the two itself is a less expensive of the two starts at 6:49 464, gigs of storage or jumps up to 749 for 128 gigs of storage. It's got stereo front speakers. A 5-inch, 1080p AMOLED display no headphone jack. By the way it does have ip67 water and dust resistance, though a USB type-c port on the bottom fingerprint reader on the back 12 megapixel camera up top that DXO mark.

If your care is already given a score of 98, which is the best in the entire business over the iPhone, A+ and Galaxy Note 8 has a 2700 William hour battery. It's got four gig ram. It kind of has everything you need unless you really do need a headphone jack. There's no wireless charging here either. There's no SD card support either, but it does run clean Android.

Of course, it's going to get updates for a long time, and it's going to get them first, it's got a new pixel launcher experience where you can swipe between panels and your search bar is always right there at the bottom, ready for you to search. It's got squeeze side gestures, as does the pixel 2 XL and for the most part it's definitely a Google phone. Now this is the one made by HTC and me: don't mean to knock it, but it does feel a little cheaper than the pixel 2 XL, which I'll show you here in a minute. It does come in kinda, blue, just black or clearly white. Those are the three colors and they sort of have a texture to the back of them.

I almost want to say they feel a little plastic, though again I'm trying not to fully discount them here. We'll spend much, much more time with them, but this is the is the pixel 2. This is the smaller guy. As for the pics from 2 XL, it's I'm not going to lie. It comes off much more premium than that other version, it's a little bigger, has much less bezel, though there is still some bezel.

This is not a bezel. Is phone does have stereo front-facing speakers just like the other guy, but it also has this 6 inch, quad HD P OLED display, just like we've seen in the LGA 30, along with 4 gig ram, snapper, 35, processor, 35, 20, William power battery. We've got no headphone jack. Here we do have a USB type-c port again and overall, this is just it's. It's it's, the big guy, it's its! It's the real deal phone of the two.

Furthermore, it just feels much, much more premium as you hold it from phone to phone and I did do some jumping back and forth between the two. This just feels like the better of the two I think the experience is obviously going to be very. Very similar. You've got squeeze edges, so you can launch Google Assistant whatever you want. It's got the new pixel launcher experience.

It'll get software updates in a hurry. Of course, it has that same camera, which DXO mark again is said, is the best, so you've got the best camera experience in the business. What I would argue is the best Android experience in the business all in a package that now actually looks a lot more like a Google phone than in years past. So with the pixel and pixel XL last year, I always kind of felt like they were just leftover, HTC parts that looked like iPhones this year. We have two phones that are definitely unique and certainly look much more like Google's vision of a phone.

So not only do we have Google's vision of software on them. We have Google's vision of a phone, so going to have much, much more down the road we want to get these phones in-house and thoroughly test them. But this is just a quick tour of the pixel 2 in pixel 2 XL.
